Happy Saint Patrick's Day, everyone! 🍀☘️ Today we celebrate the life of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland and one of the most beloved saints around the world! 🎉🙌
Legend has it that Saint Patrick used the three-leafed shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish people. He also drove the snakes out of Ireland, which is why you won't find any snakes on the Emerald Isle! 🐍🚫

Saint Patrick was a true servant of God, who dedicated his life to spreading the gospel and ministering to the Irish people. Through his preaching and miracles, he converted thousands to Christianity and established a strong foundation of faith in Ireland. 📖🕊️

But Saint Patrick's influence extends far beyond his lifetime. His legacy continues to inspire Catholics all around the world to live lives of faith and service, just as he did. 🌍🌟

So on this Saint Patrick's Day, let us not only celebrate the rich culture and heritage of Ireland, but also give thanks for the gift of faith that Saint Patrick brought to the Irish people. 🙏☘️ May his example of devotion and love for God continue to inspire us all. Happy Saint Patrick's Day! 🍀🕊️

What the heck is a mystic and how could I possibly relate to them?

There have been many mystics throughout Church history that can teach us quite a lot about what it means to have and how to build a close relationship with Christ.

I, for one, don’t have the grace of performing miracle or seeing visions nor do I think many do in today’s world, but there is one thing we all experience as part of human life that the mystics also experienced and that is suffering.
How can suffering be something that draws us and others closer to Christ? Find out by listening to the latest episode of The Mystical World of Catholicism! Link in Bio.

HOLY HIVE IS BEING REBRANDED!

Hello! You may notice some changes around the Holy Hive page, Etsy shop, and the website. Holy Hive used to be a blog before it was a shop and I have been feeling called to create a podcast centered around the mystics of the Church and mysticism. The podcast I have created is called The Mystical World of Catholicism. In order to have cohesiveness and to make it easier to manage, Holy Hive has been rebranded on Etsy, Instagram, and Facebook to The Mystical Catholic. Besides the podcast and name change, all will continue to be the same. I will continue to create high quality stickers and digital downloads. There is plenty more exciting things to come! If you're interested in listening to the podcast, you can find it on the website linked on the page. I look forward to having you on this journey with me!

Peace and Light,
Laney

Today is the Feast Day of St. John Paul II! In honor of that I wanted to share some of his beautiful words of wisdom with you!

“Science can purify religion from error and superstation, religion can purify science from idolatry and false absolutes”

“The future starts today, not tomorrow”

“Do not be afraid. Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

“Darkness can only be scattered by light, hatred can only be conquered by love.”

“All grace flows from mercy, and the last hour abounds with mercy for us. Let no one doubt concerning the goodness of God; even if a person’s sins were as dark as night, God’s mercy is stronger than our misery.”

- St. Faustina

I love reading the writing of St. Faustina Kowalska. She has such. Way with words and they hold so much beauty within them.

“GRACIOUS WORDS ARE A HONEYCOMB, SWEET TO THE SOUL AND HEALING TO THE BONES”

Hi y’all! My name is Laney and I am the creator of Holy Hive! If you couldn’t already tell, I’m a southern gal! Specifically, everything is bigger in Texas! I graduated from Texas Tech University (wreck’em!) with my Master’s in 2018 and currently work full-time in a hospital lab. I love my job, but I also love my faith and have felt God’s call for some time now. I’m glad I am finally putting His plan in to action!

My faith journey hasn’t been much of a rocky one, but it has been a challenge to grow in my faith nonetheless. I was raised Catholic, but didn’t necessarily grow-up in a “typical” Catholic home. I’ve always believed in God, but that fire in my heart and soul didn’t start to really flourish until I entered college. I was part of the Catholic Student Association at Texas Tech and will be forever grateful to the community there that helped me not only dive deeper in to my faith, but to fall deeper in love and relationship with God.

Now, at 25, I am still constantly growing in and learning about my faith. Currently, I am highly interested in theology and relating scripture to our modern day lives. Although, I love topics that fall under these categories, Holy Hive’s content will span many different topics and various ways of writing (including poetry). But, all writings will flow from my faith and what I believe.

My hope for Holy Hive is to bring myself and you closer to God in a creative way through gracious words. I came up with the name Holy Hive based on Proverbs 16:24, “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones”, and that is exactly what I hope to share with you. Gracious words that touch your soul and give you life, a more deeply in love with God kind of life. May we grow together in love, faith, hope, and holiness. God Bless and thank you for being here with me on your journey.
