Happy Heavenly Birthday to Joseph Hill (Culture) who was born on this day.

He was a lead singer and songwriter for the roots reggae group Culture,most famous for their 1977 hit "Two Sevens Clash", but also well known for their "International Herb" single. Hill recorded twenty-two albums.
Joseph Hill was born in 1949 in Linstead,Jamaica, a town in the southeast of Jamaica. He was raised in a christian family and began singing in church at the age of six. Within two years he was making his own musical instruments. After leaving home he came into contact with Rastafarians and adopted the faith.

Festival International Nuits du Reggae

Depuis sa création en 2019, le Festival International Nuits du Reggae s’est imposé comme un événement incontournable dans le paysage musical Burkinabè . Unique à son genre, il attire un public fidèle et diversifié, multigénérationnel, couvrant une zone d’attractivité allant de l'Est à l'Ouest du Nord au Sud et même au Centre du Burkina Faso. Ce festival thématique, apprécié par les artistes de la culture Reggae, marque traditionnellement les prémices du Reggae Roots Rock Ragga et Ska en restant ancré sur le territoire, offrant une expérience musicale immersive dans un cadre privilégié au Burkina Faso.

Ce festival unique en son genre a accueilli plus de 45 artistes de renom, attirant ainsi un public intergénérationnel et plus de spectateurs. Chaque année, ce festival offre une expérience immersive dans l’univers du reggae, rassemblant des amateurs de musique venus des quatre coins du monde.

Après avoir travaillé sur les 5 éditions passées à Koudougou , l'équipe souhaite vivement ne pas s'arrêter là si le but n'est pas de s'agrandir démesurément car il y'a une vraie volonté de faire fructifier le travail fourni en vu de futures éditions. Voilà pourquoi pour cette année 2025, c'est plutôt la capitale Ouagadougou plus précisément au Quartier sur le terrain de que se tiendra la 6ème édition du Festival International Nuits du Reggae
