No hobby related post. I get the question from time to time "Why has the channel stalled?" My simple answer is "Due to medical reasons I just can't do what I do as often as I used to." So to clear things up, these photos are of my legs. I have a hereditary condition called venous stasis and the result of this condition combined with long hours on my feet are these venous stasis ulcers.
Before you say "You should go see a doctor" I have, I have seen numerous doctors and surgeons. I have had my veins stripped which fixed them fir a short period but my stages with this condition are severe. There is a fix, it is a vein graft. Simply put, they take done veins that are goid and healthy and replace my veins with them. This procedure will cost in the neighborhood of $45,000. I was going to go ahead with this procedure because I need my legs lol. When the preauthorization was sent to the insurance company Blue Cross Blue Shield, their doctor looked everything over and declared that the surgery was for cosmetic reasons and non life threatening.
With that being said, all I can do is treat these ulcers daily that is extremely painful. I had to leave my trade I worked in of Machinist for 32 years because I can't stand in front of a machine for 8-12 hours a day anymore. When I am done with work for the day I have to Urbandale everything and her my feet above my head to reduce the probability of these ulcers growing in size hence leaving very little time to do the things I love like educating our future in aviation. Bare with me and I will get something figured out to where I can do the things we all love.
