After answering a Craigslist Ad in 2012 and filming my very first wedding, Phillip Benz Productions was created and I was hooked. Since that day, I have gone on to help over 300 couples re-live their dream weddings and businesses, both big and small, recruit new talent and fulfill their marketing needs. Video is more than just holding a camera and editing, it’s about storytelling and connecting with the audience in a way that brings them in wanting more.

Austin and Jeslyn's wedding at the Beaufort Hotel was truly one for the books! Not only did they celebrate surrounded by family, friends, and perfect fall weather, but it was also a reunion of sorts—I had four previous couples there who I’d filmed for their own weddings! From start to finish, this day was filled with unforgettable moments, topped off with a reception that raised the bar. 🎉 Here’s a first look at their incredible day—congratulations to the newlyweds!

You would never believe it, but Shannon and Carson’s wedding happened the day after Hurricane Helene destroyed western North Carolina. With major roadways blocked, downed power lines everywhere, flash floods, and no electricity, their wedding weekend was filled with uncertainty. But even through all that, we pulled off a breathtaking mountaintop celebration.

Congrats to Carson and Shannon – you both weathered the storm, literally and figuratively, and came out stronger on the other side. 🌄💍

Our Story

I still can't believe that almost 7 years ago Benz Productions started by answering a Craigslist ad for someone needing a wedding videographer. Flash forward to now, I’m still evolving and learning every single day and it never gets old.

My name is Phillip Benz, owner and operator of Benz Productions. We recently left North Carolina and relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia. That being said, most of my work is still in NC but I do offer my services worldwide.

The thing that draws me to weddings is the fact that I’m telling a story of one of the happiest days of a couple’s life. I’m able to use my creativity to help this couple, their friends and their families, remember this day in a way they never could have remembered otherwise. I take a lot of pride in my work and I give it my all on a wedding day.
