It is said that the longest journey one can make is from the head to the heart.
FISH POSE (Matsyasana) is a great ally on this journey.
It helps to quiet and calm the mind and activates the heart chakra.
If you find that you are often stuck in problem solving mode, that you overthink decisions, micromanage others, just basically live in your head most of the time, do this pose often. It will help you drop into your heart space.
Some tips:
-start with your feet on the ground knees bent and sit on your hands, palms down, forearms down. Then extend your legs on the floor.
-use a block (or two) under your head if your head can’t touch the floor.
-use a block under you shoulder blades for support if it’s too intense
-only raise your legs if your lower back is OK
-if all is going well, try raising the arms. Play with different mudras!
