As we bid farewell to 2023 and embrace the possibilities of 2024, our hearts brim with gratitude for the journey we've shared.
We witnessed your smiles at Islamic conventions, your enthusiastic support for our GoFundMe campaign, and the joy in your eyes as you explored STEM, good manners, and Islamic values through Salaam Magazine.

But while we witnessed bridges built by kind words and knowledge through discovery, we also saw shadows of struggle fall on our community, reminding us of the need to stand side-by-side with our Muslim brothers and sisters.
We closed this year with a terrible shame on humanity with thousands of dead children. We hope this new year will bear a world without war and hatred.

Remember, the world needs your bright smiles, your kind hearts, and your unwavering spirit of unity. Let's make this year a beacon of hope, a testament to the power of Muslim brothers and sisters standing strong together

Islam emphasizes the importance of moderation and mindful consumption, condemning wastefulness as a form of ingratitude towards our blessings. The Quran states, "Eat and drink, but be not excessive in waste, for he does not love the wasters" (7:31). This verse highlights the concept of 'israf,' which refers to going beyond the limits of moderation and using resources recklessly.
Our religion reminds us that we are not the owners of the Earth's resources but rather their caretakers. We have a responsibility to use these resources wisely and sustainably for the benefit of ourselves and future generations.
By embracing the Islamic principles, we can reduce wastefulness and create a more harmonious relationship with the environment.

Fall means apples, pumpkins, and everything you can make out of them. So, let's play a game and see if you have the necessary cooking skills!

Full recipe is down below:

Ingredients:
4 apples
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup walnuts (or another preferred nut)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Whipped cream
1 cup of water

Preparation:
🍎Preheat the oven to 400 F.
🍎Peel the apples, cut them into two, and remove the core with a spoon. Put the apples on a baking pan. Apples lower the risk of heart disease and strokes, and lower bad cholesterols and blood pressure.
🍎Add the honey and cinnamon over the apples evenly. Then add water and cover the pan with aluminum foil. Put the apples into the heated oven and let it bake for 45 minutes.
🍎The apples are ready when you can easily put a fork through them. Take them out of the oven and let them cool. 🍎Finally, add the whipped cream and walnuts on top. Looks yummy, doesn't it? Enjoy!

Our hearts are wrenching with the tragedies everyday.
Allah (SWT mentions in the Qur’an to ask Him forgiveness and pray with His beautiful names.
And The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Whoever increases his prayers for istighfar (forgiveness), Allah will grant him relief from every worry, a way out from every hardship, and provide for him in ways he does not expect.”
(Musnad Aḥmad)
This is a time for more du’a and istighfar for the ummah.

World Refugee Day that falls on June 20th, honors the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home and supports millions of families all over the world.

This year, this important day is within the period of Dhul Hijjah. This period is extremely important as Allah (SWT) has immensely blessed it. Our Prophet (PBUH) has shed light on how important it is: "There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than on these days." (Meaning: the first ten days of Dhull Hijjah).
