2020 has been a year of major crises. A global pandemic. Urban rebellions. Threat of a constitutional crisis.
What stories and personal experiences have slipped through the cracks unnoticed amidst all the emergencies? And in slipping through the cracks, what new routines and solidarities have they seeded? What new worlds might be taking root (for better or for worse) in overlooked places across Rochester?
RCTV is seeking short video submissions from local artists and community producers reflecting on the year 2020. Selected videos will become part of a companion exhibit to Last Year On Earth at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center in February-March 2021.
We welcome submissions from Rochester-area artists, creators, and producers, regardless of training or background.
We will consider all forms of video, including but not limited to: documentary, experimental, narrative, animation, music video, TikTok, etc.
Video submissions should be a maximum length of 10 minutes, but preferably shorter.
Submitted videos must be in finished form to be considered.
Submitters should provide a working link to their video (uploaded to a platform like Vimeo or YouTube). If your video is selected, you will be asked to send a video file in .mov or .mp4 format.
Questions regarding the submission process or the exhibit should be sent to: [email protected].
