My name is Kara Merideth and I’m an unapologetic and life long reader of all things smvt and mayhem since I was about 11. An extroverted introvert.

I’m a 48 year old mom to 11 kids/adults. I’m a retired Air Force intelligence officer and, most recently, a bookstagrammer and wanna be lady farmer who likes to attend book signings in my “free” time 🙂

6 Facts about me:
1) I didn’t read for 14 years. After I got back from Baghdad it was too difficult to concentrate and even had to drop out of my Masters program. Then I developed lupus and the br

ain fog was debilitating. It took a long time to get my health back to where I could function and in 2019, I started reading like I did “before”.
2) I read about 100 pages an hour and an average of 2 books a day. The struggle was REAL before the onset of Kindle Unlimited.
3) I’ve lived all over the US: Massachusetts, Hawaii, Maryland, Texas, Wyoming, Colorado, Missouri, and now Arkansas.
4) I got to do some REALLY cool s**t in the military. Loved my job and was depressed when I had to retire. Have some of the best friends ever, spread out all over the country.
5) Our kids are: 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 19, 18, 14, 13, 11, and 8. A collection of his, mine, ours, and adopted. All my kiddos were not accidents. Except the last.
6) Just moved from Saint Louis City to 30 acres in rural Arkansas to live my dream of having a hobby farm. It’s been an adjustment. If I could just stop getting poison ivy I’d be loving life, lol.
