This has been getting a lot of awards buzz. I watched this last night, and I truly respect what it went for. I have a lot of thoughts. I think if you’re more willing to accept what it’s going for, you’ll like it more. Like the songs aren’t great … but at the same time, I don’t think they’re meant to be. I think it’s meant to feel less polished.

Enjoying this quite a bit! Nice little story, well paced, well acted (Betty Gilpin is great), super violent … a bit over the top at times and it lacks the depth and beauty of something like “Godless,” but this is A-tier popcorn TV and a good start to 2025 with Night Agent S2 (also some good popcorn TV) coming on the 23rd and Severance coming on Friday.

I’ve been pretty hard on this show – and I think rightfully so. Anyone who has followed this channel since S1 of Silo knows how much I love this show, so you know it’s coming from a real place when I talk about how disappointing this season has been. This was the best episode of the season by a mile, but that’s not saying much.

Having said that, this episode was pretty good – and not just because it provided answers either. There were a couple of really strong character moments in this episode, and that ending?!?!? I was pretty blown away. It’s very rare that I physically react to something I see on the screen, but my jaw dropped during that final scene. Pause. Dune: Part Two Review *NO SPOILERS* If you watched the significantly fatter version of myself unenthusiastically talk about the first film in my video for it, first of all, apologies. lol Secondly, that means you’re already aware of how much I loved the first film. In the more-than-two-years since the release of the first film, I’ve spent the majority of my waking hours waiting on this moment. So what did I think?
