All-Star 2025 is behind us, 66% of the season is complete, and the home stretch begins (with a make-up game) on Wednesday.

While the top three teams in the league remain the favorites, a crazy trade deadline has created more uncertainty than usual as we come out of the break. Most of that uncertainty is in the Western Conference, where the fifth-place Los Angeles Lakers added Luka Dončić and the 10th-place Golden State Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler.

It might take some time for those players to get in sync with their new teams, but those squads could now have much higher ceilings than they did before. More teams beyond the Lakers and Warriors have reshuffled their rosters, so there are plenty of new lineups and combinations to watch and evaluate over the next few weeks.

TikTok was restored to the Apple App Store and Google Play on Thursday night following weeks of limbo after President Donald Trump's administration delayed a ban on the social media app.

The app, though accessible to users who had already downloaded, hasn't been available for download as questions remained about the potential enforcement of the ban. Android users were able to access the app directly from the TikTok website earlier in the day.

TikTok went dark for about 12 hours in on Jan. 18 after the Supreme Court denied parent company ByteDance's argument that a ban on the app infringes on users' free speech.

Trump moves to slap tariffs on nearly every nation, boosting trade war

WASHINGTON − President Donald Trump signed an memorandum on Thursday instructing his administration to pursue reciprocal tariffs against nations that put fees on U.S. exports, escalating a trade war that could lead to higher costs for Americans.

Trump did not immediately put tariffs in place. He directed trade officials to go country by country and put together a slate of tailored counter measures.

The tariffs are expected to be equivalent to the fees that individual countries put on products that are imported from the U.S., including tariffs and taxes, and take into account regulatory requirements and subsidies affecting U.S. businesses and consumers.

"Whatever they charge us, we're charging them," Trump said Thursday. "It's a beautiful simple system."

A nationwide surge in flu, COVID-19, RSV and norovirus infections is fueling concerns of a possible virus "quademic." Or is it just winter?

The three respiratory viruses plus norovirus, a gastrointestinal virus, are the "main players in our winter virus pantheon," said Dr. Thomas Russo, who heads the infectious diseases department at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. Russo added that they can circulate at other times of year but tend to peak in winter.

"Do we have a lot of cases? The answer is yes," Russo told USA TODAY. "The 'emic' part of it is a bit of a gimmick, but we do have these viruses circulating and causing infections right now."
