All the details you need to know for the Freedom Festival tomorrow! 🎆
Plus out sister station Q97 will be broadcasting the music starting at 10pm!
We're just ONE day away from the Annual Freedom Festival! Join us tomorrow, Thursday, July 4th, at 6 pm at the Redding Civic Auditorium grounds.
The annual fireworks show will begin at 10 p.m. at the Redding Civic Auditorium grounds. This free show is one of the largest in California, with over 1,700 shells produced by Pyro Spectacular.
The soundtrack for the show will begin playing at 10 pm on Q97—tune to 97.3 FM.
Vendors will sell concessions from 6 to 9:55 p.m. Not all vendors accept credit cards, so bring cash just in case. Concessions include dinner options, shaved ice, water, drinks, etc.
Important Event Details:
🎆The event will open at 6 p.m. Please DO NOT arrive before 6 p.m., but DO plan to arrive promptly at 6 p.m. to secure your place. Temperatures are predicted to be extreme that day—113 degrees, to be exact! To help keep event participants hydrated, a cooling station will be available under the Civic Center Bridge. This station will have misters and water bottle refilling stations.
🎆DO NOT drop off items before 6 p.m., and DO NOT leave your items unattended. Don’t risk having your items stolen or relocated by leaving them unattended.
🎆There are several areas where parking is not allowed. For safety reasons, please follow all "No Parking" signs. Reserving locations overnight is not permitted.
🎆The Boat Ramp will close on Wednesday, July 3, and reopen on Friday, July 5, at 12 p.m. The Park Marina Bridge will be closed to vehicles once the parking lots are full. The bridge will reopen once all pedestrians have cleared the event. RVs are not allowed. The Sundial Bridge will close at 9:30 p.m. on July 4 and will reopen after the Redding Fire Department clears the area following the show. The Civic Center overpass will close at 9 p.m. on July 4.
🎆Please bring chairs, as the event does not provide seating.
🎆No dogs or pets will be permitted at the event. Please be aware that while registered service animals are technically allowed, even trained animals can be unpredictable during fireworks. Animals have been lost or died every year during the fireworks. Please keep your pets safe and secure by keeping them at home. Pets should be kept indoors and in a quiet place until at least 12 a.m on July 5th, as any remaining fireworks could be fired off even after the fireworks show is over.
🎆No alcohol or drones will be permitted at the event. No exceptions.
🎆Food and beverage vendors will begin at 6 p.m. Please bring cash, as not all vendors can accept credit card payments.
🎆A live musical performance by California Country will begin at 7 p.m.
🎆Pop-up tents can be used but must be removed by sunset to ensure everyone can view the live music and fireworks.
🎆Shade umbrellas are permitted until sunset, but they must be free-standing. They cannot be the kind of umbrellas that are pushed into the ground, as those cause damage to the Civic Center lawn.
🎆Please remember that all fireworks are illegal in Shasta County and within the City of Redding. Leave the fireworks to the professionals.
🎆Follow the City of Redding for the most up-to-date details on the Freedom Festival.
