Strikingly Standard Poodles LLC Small family owned breeder. We strive to produce well-rounded, healthy pups who are well socialized with children. We’re located just outside of Raleigh, NC.

Our adults and pups live in our home and are raised as part of the family. We help prepare them for grooming, housebreaking and much more. Our puppies are all AKC and 100% genetically clear through parentage; using the full poodle panel at Canine Health Check. Puppies will go home around 8/9 weeks old. They will come with a health check from a certified vet. Puppies are microchipped, dewormed, Neo

par vaccine, Bordatella, and Distemper/Parvo. Puppies will go home with 1st dose of heart worm prevention. Our puppies have a one year genetic guarantee. We are partnered with trupanion and each puppy will receive a health insurance offer for 30 days of free coverage. Puppies will also have an additional 30 days of free health insurance after they are registered with AKC. Puppies are raised using BAB/Puppy Culture. We complete early neurological stimulation and early scent introduction. Pups have begun crate and litter training and have remained inside my home throughout their life. All pups have natural tails and their front dew claws.

Each mama gets two mom meals daily while nursing her babies. She also has unlimited fresh water and dry kibble throughout the day.

We’re getting close to baby time! Ginny and babies are doing amazing! The last two weeks have been emotionally taxing to say the least!

Ginny decided a fleece blanket would taste delicious a couple weeks ago and ended up with a linear obstruction. She does not typically eat things that aren’t food. My guess would be she had morning sickness and tried to soothe her tummy but, we’ll never know. I learned with a linear obstruction they can still eat and drink like normal for some time before showing any signs of distress.

She ended up needing emergency surgery and Dr Blair in Jacksonville was absolutely phenomenal. She saved her and her pups!!

Both our regular vet and her surgeon have zero concerns about the pups and only administered baby safe meds both during surgery and recovery. She has her puppy count xray Monday morning. My guess is 7 babies.

Fortunately, with her anatomy made it so her uterus did not have to be manipulated at all during surgery, which was an initial concern. It was tucked to the side of her body and her bowels her on top. Babies have been monitored closely and everyone is doing phenomenal with strong heartbeats!

It has been an incredibly stressful few weeks. The first one specifically was brutal as we waited to see if her body would accept the sutures and heal from the multiple perforations she had sustained.

The development of Septicemia was a real concern between days 5-7, but Ginny is a fighter and she’s out of the woods!

She’s been on a liquid (canned food with formula) diet every two hours since her surgery on the 11th. She starts soaked puppy food mixed with canned today.

Having said all of this, I HIGHLY recommend you carry insurance on your fur babies. Even if they aren’t particularly mischievous. You just never know. I signed everyone up while I was sitting in the emergency vet.

Although we send our pup’s home with Trupanion, I highly recommend Spot Insurance. It’s affordable and straight forward. Quotes will vary depending on age, but here’s an example of what I pay.
