“480 Minutes” - Foxes & Hen Houses

Putin’s "Destroy America From Within" cabinet is coming together nicely: an Attorney General nominee who has spent 10x as much time under investigation for crimes as he did as a practicing attorney (check out what the founder of the right-wing Federalist thinks); a Health & Human Services secretary nominee who intentionally flooded Facebook with misleading information about vaccines killing children in Samoa which lead to a drop in vaccinations from 70% to 30% & a year later nearly 3% of the population contracted measles, & of course the dude has zero medical training; a Director of National Intelligence nominee who is unquestionably a Russian propagandist; a Secretary of Defense nominee whose main qualification appears to be that he looks good on TV (he’s a Fox News host) with no Pentagon, defense industry, or government experience who wants to relegate 20% of the military (the female portion) to secretarial jobs, and, oh yeah, he is a staunch defender of war criminals; & finally (for now) a Department of Homeland Security nominee whose claim to fame is murdering her puppy.

For all of the faux outrage about Diversity, Equality, & Inclusion initiatives supposedly giving jobs to people who don’t deserve them, MAGA doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest installing uniquely unqualified, inexperienced, & depraved loyalists into the most powerful government jobs as long as those nominees are telegenic (Rubio & Burgum excluded) & hate the same people they do.

“480 Minutes” - Bad Gut

My gut was dead wrong, as it was in 2016, & now 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue will be registered as the home of a s*x offender. Or maybe it won’t because the Supreme Court has ruled that pretty much everything a president does is legal. Only time will tell.

If Trump’s mass deportation threats are to be taken more seriously than his “I will build a wall & Mexico will pay for it” lie, Trump: The Sequel will surely present boom-times for companies like Geo Group (image above) which already has more than a billion dollars in ICE contracts & will make billions more constructing concentration camps in our name. Oh, and stock up on frozen produce because there won't be anyone left to pick the fresh stuff.

Also, I remember when seeing images like the above in a public place, in this instance on a college campus, was unthinkable. Unthinkable no more, as MAGA’s culture of misogyny, homophobia, & white supremacy is emboldened to sink to new depths.

“480 Minutes” - Gut Feeling

Yes, I’m sad that my Yankees lost. The fact is they didn’t play well enough to deserve to win which oddly makes it easier to swallow.

In other news we have an election here in the US next Tuesday & your host trained to be a poll worker this year, so next Tuesday the Fuzzy Road radio show will be a rerun.

Speaking of the election, I have a gut feeling that Vice President Harris is going to roll Convicted Felon Trump. If that feeling proves correct & she squashes him underfoot like the disgusting maggot he is, we’re probably safe. There may still be annoying shenanigans, but nothing too dangerous. If that decisive victory for democracy doesn’t happen & the results are at all close, however…there will be chaos. Several states where the GOP has installed MAGA election deniers into important electoral positions (Georgia & Arizona, amongst others) will refuse to certify their vote if it does not go their way. Evidence-free challenges will again be made & it will be up to courts at the state & federal level to block Coup 2 starring Garbage DonOld. If said courts fail & this mess ends up in front of the Supremely Compromised Court, well…I’d rather not think about that right now. “480 Minutes” - New Music Avalanche!

Tonight the World Series begins, & my New York Yankees (I bet you didn't know I owned a baseball team!) will compete with the Los Angeles Dodgers for baseball’s ultimate prize for the first time in 15 years. When I was a kid it seemed like the Yankees & Dodgers met in the Series every year (it was actually 3 times in 5 years), & thirty years before that when my dad was a kid they kinda did meet almost every year, but that was back when the Dodgers called Brooklyn home. No 3000 mile flights required. Anyway, I know “BAGeL Radio ain’t about sports,” & many of you don’t care about baseball, but just so you know: I am very much looking forward to feeling like a 10-year old again for the next week or so.
