After more than 18 years at WPRI, I have decided to start a new chapter in my career later this spring.
Being a part of people's morning routine has been the honor of my life and the fulfillment of a childhood dream. While the "big weather days" are always a rush, I am most thankful for the positive role this job has allowed me to have in our community. I've spoken in hundreds of classrooms, attended and emceed dozens of important, meaningful charity events, spent many spring and summer seasons mentoring future meteorologists through college internships and high school senior projects and had some seriously good chats with viewers in all sorts of funny, unexpected places.
I arrived at WPRI as a newlywed, and have felt so much love through the years as Pete and I grew our family. I owe the people of Block Island a long overdue apology for my belly covering it up for months on end through three pregnancies. Those babies are growing up quickly (one’s heading to high school next year), and I don’t want to miss any more mornings with them or be too tired in the evenings to enjoy their witty conversations and busy sports schedules.
I will miss the amazing crew and so many dear friends at WPRI. They are some of the hardest working, most dedicated people around and they care deeply about the news and people of southern New England. I am proud to have been a part of this team.
I am not going far. I have an exciting opportunity working in the private sector in Rhode Island. More details on that to come.
