Today we continue our conversation with Raymond about urban renewal in Providence and RI. Since we now know the history this episode is focused on how these structures and choices still impact us today.
Raymond Two Hawks Watson is a community advocate, educator, cultural practitioner, convener, and business professional with sixteen years of experience in nonprofit leadership and executive administration. Watson’s skills consist of program development & implementation, grant writing, motivational speaking, leadership & cultural development consulting, community organizing, and event planning, supplemented by an extensive background in promoting and supporting cultural equity & cultural development initiatives in the Rhode Island community.

Watson has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Union College in New York, a master’s degree in community planning from the University of Rhode Island, and a
Juris doctorate from the Roger Williams University School of Law. Watson was consulting co-lead for development of the City of Providence’s Municipal Reparations Reconciliation Framework and is the recipient of the Rhode Island Foundation’s 2016 Carter Innovation Fellowship, a 2021 recipient of the
U.S. President's Lifetime Achievement Award for Voluntary Service, a Mayoral appointee to the City of Providence’s Municipal Reparations Commission (2022), and is the 2023 recipient of Justice Assistance’s Neil J. Houston, Jr Memorial Award.

Over the last few episodes we have heard a lot about urban renewal and what the affect was on Providence and RI. Today's episode we talk with local historian Raymond Two Hawks Watson to help us get a better understand of what urban renewal was.

Raymond is a community advocate, educator, cultural practitioner, convener, and business professional with sixteen years of experience in nonprofit leadership and executive administration. Fr. Krantz is a priest retired from the Diocese of Long Island, where he served for 23 years. He loves Bible study, healing ministry, theater, classical music and classic rock, Doctor Who and all things Narnia. During his career he helped develop the now-defunct website "Preaching Peace" which many clergy relied upon for sermon preparation. I am one of two deacons at the Church of the Atonement in Chicago. I am a life member of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, a Founding member of the Chicago Chapter of the Society of Catholic Priests, and a member of the Board of Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church. I was baptized at the same service as my father. I am a retired probation officer in the Cook County, Illinois system, and worked mostly with domestic violence offenders and medium- and high-risk DUIs. Reece was ordained in Madrid, Spain. He began his ministry at Our Little Roses in San Pedro Sula, Honduras under a Fulbright with the Obama administration. He then worked in Madrid, Spain, for the Bishop of Spain for the Spanish Episcopal Church as his canon to the ordinary for 8 years. He next came back to the US and worked as the interim priest for St. Mark's/San Marcos in Jackson Heights, Queens, for two years, where the former priest has died of Covid-19. Three months ago he was invited to be the vicar of Wickford, at St. Paul's. He is thrilled to be back in his New England roots and having clam chowder every other day.

The Rev. Dr. Robet Black is the Rector of St. Luke's in Salisbury, North Carolina. He holds degrees from Wake Forest University, Virginia Theological Seminary, and The University of the South: Sewanee. Fr. It is our last episode of the season and we are chatting with the Rev Tim Rich about Naomi and Ruth! Reverend Timothy T. Rich was ordained in Washington, DC in 1993, Tim has served in the dioceses of Pittsburgh, New Hampshire, and now, Rhode Island. While in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, he was active in youth ministry and anti-racism efforts. As the rector of St. John's, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he served on a variety of Diocesan committees including the Commission on Ministry, the Committee for Mission Resources, and the Clergy Development Committee. In 2003 the Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson, Bishop of New Hampshire, invited Tim to be his Canon to the Ordinary. As canon, his portfolio included conflict resolution, safe church issues, vestry retreats, congregational development, leadership development, and transition ministries. In June of 2012 he returned to parish ministry, called to be the rector of St. Luke's Church, East Greenwich RI. Tim currently serves on the diocese's Commission on Ministry. He lives with his wife, Diane Rich, and their beloved goldendoodle, Brinkley.

Our guest today is the Rev Robert Pace of Trinity Church in Fort Worth Texas and we are chatting about Zachariah. There are two men called Zachariah in the bible, who were these men, why were they important? We also are looking at the canticle of Zachariah and the significance of that canticle in our own prayer lives.

The Rev. Robert F. Pace is the Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He has a Ph.D. in History, and he spent more than twenty years teaching at universities in Virginia and Texas before pursuing a call to ordained ministry. He received an M.Div. from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX, and he has served as Associate Rector and Rector at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Amarillo, TX, before accepting this call at Trinity in Fort Worth. Father Pace loves to teach and has worked extensively with the Seminary of the Southwest’s Iona Collaborative Program.
