A Different Approach to Recovery
This week Nick and Dylan are highlighting a couple guys in the Portland community that are making some big moves in the recovery field. Nic Jeffords and Brandon Smith started a couple non profits that are already making a huge impact. The first is Lift Sober where they teach CrossFit, for free, to those in recovery or even sober curious. The second is a new coffee shop that is open late night (5pm - midnight) where they teach folks in recovery how to make coffee and the job skills needed to hold down employment as a barista. We talk a lot about peer support and why they wanted to do something different in the recovery field and at the core, create community.
