Talking about anxiety shouldn’t be taboo. Did you know that Women are twice as likely to be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, and the prevalence of anxiety disorders is significantly higher for women than men?
Now, this could be linked to hormones or even that women are majority over-thinkers and are more in touch with their emotions (sorry fellas). But that shouldn’t mean it’s a sign of weakness, just a minor side effect to being a hardworking and empathetic woman.
I’ve had anxiety for what feels like my entire life, but recently it’s been a lot worse and at times extremely debilitating - iykyk. I recently took an enneagram test and discovered my personality type is quite literally anxiety, so there’s that (type sixes where ya at?!) Anyway, I won’t bore you with the details of my hyperactive mind, but I will leave you with this quote that gives me the reassurance that I unfortunately consistently need -

Your thoughts are a product of emotions and worries that probably don’t exist in the moment and most likely never will. As challenging as it may be, think of your worries as a down payment on a problem that doesn’t exist.
Continue to push yourself, to be empathetic, to feel & validate your feelings, but never let your thoughts weaken you. 👏🏼
