This next free store is going to be a big one! Bring anything you'd like to donate, but especially warm clothing, personal care supplies, pet supplies, camping gear, and small furniture (nightstands, small chests of drawers, lamps)- our most requested items!

We're still in need of volunteers to make the event happen. Email [email protected] to sign up. Giving things away is always a VERY fun time!

We are so grateful that a temporary women’s shelter opened yesterday for our guests to walk a short distance too. The shelter at the Salvation Army on W Burnside doesn’t require a referral so women can simply show up or line up. This makes it super accessible and low barrier. Our staff have checked in with a couple of women who stayed last night and they have been liking it there so far!

It’s great to finally have a resource to tell people about since all other shelters have been full for so long. It’s great to be able to instill some hope that resources can exist.

Blanchet House is still planning to open a 75 bed women’s shelter in the spring to help address the need for safe places to sleep.

Thank you to the Salvation Army and City of Portland for making this happen.

📣 New Year, new support groups

To get started, please email Sandy at [email protected] for a brief consultation as soon as possible.

Please share widely and with your networks to get this resource in front of the people who may need it.

Fun Fact: This group is based on the work of Dr. Patricia Papernow.
