I feel like writing a beat that won't drop until 300 years from now.

A previously unknown piece by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has been found in a German library! Likely written when he was a teenager, the piece is from the mid to late 1760s and lasts around 12 minutes, made up of seven short movements for a string trio.

Although Mozart started composing as a child prodigy under his father’s guidance, this piece wasn’t found in his handwriting. Instead, it was discovered in a copy made around 1780 while experts were updating the Köchel catalogue, which lists all of Mozart’s works.

The string trio performed this newly found piece during the unveiling of the new catalogue in Salzburg, and it will have its German premiere at the Leipzig Opera this Saturday! 🎻✨
