Ruth Carter for Placerville City Council

Ruth Carter for Placerville City Council Our Historic and beautiful City needs a strong, unbiased leader, who will put the needs of the constituents above their own self-serving agenda.

Housing, homelessness, mental health, small business growth, historical preservation, community clean up and senior services are the issues that I am most passionate about. My name is Ruth Carter and my husband and I have raised 6 wonderful adult children and we recently earned the titles of Pop-Pop & Gigi. As an 18+year small business owner, I belong to the El Dorado County Association of Realtor

s and am a current Board member. In addition, I serve as an Internship Committee member, teaching on Zoom or in-person to aspiring Realtors. During the Caldor Fire, I spent many hours volunteering to help our community and facilitating getting much needed supplies to evacuees. I am passionate about living by the Golden Rule, as well as Paying it Forward. I have advocated for the homeless and hungry for most of my adult life, because I grew up very poor. This fueled my personal fire and drive to succeed. I believe there is a creator and I have a higher purpose to serve. My hope, as your elected Councilmember, is to bring a fresh perspective. Let’s pass down a sense of pride in preserving and prospering in the City of Placerville for generations to come.

It's a beautiful day for family, live music, jeeps and apple shandy ♥️

It’s incredible to think the 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝘼𝙡 𝙃𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙨 began 20-years ago this season. The event has been a staple at Placerville Speedway and continues its legacy Saturday night, paying extra money for the top-three finishers in the Sprint Car feature!

The winner will pocket $2,500; the runner up will earn $1,800 and third place receives $1,500.

Grandstand seating also returns to General Admission Saturday, except the reserved seats marked for season ticket holders.

Reserved seating will remain in place for both nights of the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial in June, the 4th of July event, the Nor*Cal Posse Shootout, the Malicious Monster Trucks in September and the Hangtown 100 in November.
