PIE - Pittsburgh Indie Expo (formerly PIX: Pittsburgh Indy Comics Expo) - Celebrating creator-owned, self-published, small-press, and handmade comics in Pittsburgh & beyond! On Sunday, April 9, 2017 The ToonSeum will present the sixth Pittsburgh Independent Comics Expo (PIX), Pittsburgh’s annual exposition devoted to creator-owned, self-published, small-press, and handmade comics. An important cha

nge to note is that PIX will be moving to a NEW LOCATION – actually locations – in 2017: The August Wilson Center located at 980 Liberty Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh will be the setting of the exhibition component of PIX, while programs will be held at The ToonSeum, located directly across the street at 945 Liberty Ave. At the August Wilson Center, attendees will have the opportunity to survey and sample a wide variety of independently produced and published, creator-owned works produced by the far ranging talents of the comics artists and cartoonists currently flourishing in the tri-state area and beyond. Across the street, The Toonseum will be concurrently hosting the programming – consisting of artist presentations, creator panels, and more! SNEAK PEEK at pencils for the office PIE poster by artist !!! Angela Oddling is a Pittsburgh-native cartoonist and art educator. Her work weaves monsters and magic into tales of our everyday lives, often exploring the not-so-fun and complicated parts of being a person and how they affect our journeys to self-love and acceptance. She aims to create a safe space within her work for her audience to explore their more complicated emotions, and know that they don’t have to do so alone.

When she’s not creating art, you can find Angela playing games about falling in love, cooking with her partner and three bad cats, and scurrying into the woods to hang out with the trees.
