Thoughts on xdefiant as posted in Navy141’s thread. Felt I could leave my thoughts here, as its an honest review and not just someone saying “🗑️” as thats not helpful at all 😅😅

Make sure you follow navy, and give your thoughts on !! He’s a good intelligent dude and engaging to watch 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Pros:
Little to no aim assist. You win gunfights based on skill.

No asinine movement. You can’t YY through the whole map like a moron, but slide cancel, bunny hop, side hops, ALL THERE. If you couldnt figure it out, you didnt take the time to research or adjust settings to your play style 🤷🏻‍♂️

Map play: these are old school MW maps. 3 lane, no corners, 98% open. If you corner up theres no way out and get killed more often than not. They are fast paced, even the larger scale maps.

Free to play: Whats the hurt? It costs you zero dinero to play this game (currently). There are no pay to win blueprints in the battle pass that will make you a better player (hit your shots kid). That said. It’s FREE TO PLAY. If you expected an unreal engine 5 polished game with 15 years of data to improve year over year, thats on you as a consumer. Right now its arcade-ish, with a little realism. Tinuvian said it best. Its BlackOps meets Overwatch. I knew what I was getting when I downloaded it, so I wasnt disappointed at all visually.

Sbmm: its there, but its not. Input AND crossplay matchmaking option is perfect. Some games you ball out, some games you get sh*t on. But for whatever reason, its still fun and not rage inducing. Unlike CoD.

Sniping/gunplay: feels like blackops of old. Who hates that??

CONS:

Hit reg: still a bit off from the beta from when I hear. I didnt play the beta, but I agree its there. Felt like a lost a few I shouldnt. Needs to be top priority.

Game modes: if you expected BR or realism, you shouldnt have even downloaded it. Its a fast paced MP game as of now. I cant imagine new modes won’t be implemented, but I can see how people can get bored if you aren’t a grinder.

Settings: biggest gripe I hear from people. Trying to get your sensitivity, movement, ads sense, all that to feel like you are used to playing was a challenge. Took a few hours. Unnecessarily difficult.

Servers: while it seems fixed now, the lack of anticipation of high traffic was disappointing. BUT. Literally every new release has this issue. Even CoD. Might hurt them more though because people may have quit trying and never come back.

Randoms: with there being no BR, more emphasis/rewards need put into winning the match. The feel of getting a win needs to be more prominent with the lack of game modes (as it stands) its 100% more fun with friends.

Weapom leveling: it takes *in squints voice* FOR-EH-VER.

If you only game it 20 minutes, and expected real engine 5 graphics and realism, you were doomed from the start. It’s a solid, free to play, nice change from CoD. Is it a CoD killer?? Hell no. Cod is market dominated and has been for years and years. No free to play game from ubisoft will take out cod. Its a game. Just have fun.

I’m gonna let you all in on a little secret. If you have a fav streamer, and they go to facecam when they are queuing into a lobby? Its cause they dont want you to see how long its taking, and they are playing on 80+ ping… but their latency is magically 15 or lower.

Thats what u call a VPN, coupled with a geofence. They arent cheating, they are just playing w 3rd world countries, and people with dialup internet.
