Be a friend, the next time I say that I want a fixer upper - STOP ME. Never would have imagined I’d have to do masonry in my basement for 5 months. Yikes! That was tough! This is just the work and storage room. It was such a wreck that I had to concede and leave the f’ed up patchwork cardboard ceiling and outer walls and just put up more cardboard and learn how to use an airless paint sprayer. 9 gallons of premium paint! It’s still an f’ed up room but the masonry is solid and it’s clean. We can live with it.

Last week I was ‘supposed to’ check some ‘to do’s’ off my list, but I put them off. Then my bestie texted me and asked if I wanted to have a picnic hang at the park. That ended up resulting in a really beautiful and important conversation. So sometimes ‘procrastinating’ is actually your intuition slowing you down to make room for something better to come in.

This is my, ‘I stayed up past the time I know is good for me to go to sleep…so I overslept the next morning and missed the gym, then didn’t have enough time to cook a solid breakfast, so I grabbed an apple and was starving by lunch.’ Look.

All because of procrastination. In the past I would have been really hard on myself but since I understand WHY I procrastinated, I’m able to own my annoyance, the affect it has on others (Note Mr. Lee mirroring my vibe), and the fact that I can do something about it in the future.

Our latest podcast episode is all about understanding why we procrastinate, why it’s sometimes a good thing, and what to do about it.
