Not the greatest quality picture on my feed but this little moment between Bubb and Zoey was cute. People often ask me how it was bringing a baby home to all my big dogs. I’m very transparent. Especially about Zoey since she has some fear-based behaviors. None of our dogs, even Reese the Walmart greeter Lab, had access to our son for the first few weeks after we brought him home. They were allowed to sniff so long as they were in a calm sit or down. Even now, I oversee all interactions. I never leave him by himself with any of our dogs. I do trust my dogs and they do adore the baby…but at the end of the day, they are still animals. A lot of the times when I talk to people who have dogs that have bitten their child they often say things like “I never would have thought my dog would do that”. Unfortunately, the issue most of the time isn’t the dog. It’s that we aren’t teaching our children how to properly behave with dogs. My son is too young to understand so, I am very vigilant when they’re all together. When he’s old enough to understand rules, he will learn not to pull ears or tails or hug or tackle the dogs. We can’t expect our dogs to just tolerate our kids. They don’t understand that. So, we need to teach our kids how to behave and how to respect our dogs. Zoey was fine with these interactions. I watched carefully to make sure petting didn’t turn into pulling her jowls or anything like that. She’s okay with most of the baby’s antics but I’m always watching for signs of stress so I can intervene.

Well, I finally did it guys. After sitting on an active starter for like two weeks, I finally made my first loaves of sourdough bread out of the starter I did myself! I have to wait for these to cool before I cut them open and see how I did but they look and smell so good! I’ll update in my stories how they are! 🤞🏻

Photo dump! I’m drowning in editing photography sessions on top of everything else so, here’s the last few weeks in one! We took Bubby to his first pumpkin patch and his first Trunk or Treat. They had trucks which was his absolutely favorite part aside from the dogs! We got some new coffee from a local roaster that turned out to be DELICIOUS so check them out if you’re into good coffee. I’ve also been continuing my bread making journey. My sourdough starter is on day 9 I think? Still not ready to use but hopefully we’re getting there. In the meantime, I tried an easy and delicious artisan loaf recipe!

A little photo dump since I’ve been a little absent! Sissy’s gotcha day was the 17th! We’ve had our wild little Dane for 4 years! Bubby turned 15 months old on the 19th which is just crazy to me. Next week is his 15 month appointment and my head is spinning! Happy weekend! 😊
