One of many lamp shades that I have made over the past year. The glass was called peacock blue. The color worked well in my wife’s office. My design and pattern. Being my first lamp shade I was a little intimidated, but I think it turned out pretty good.

Latest project completed. I piddle with easy stuff while my wife does much harder things. Keeps me close by in our little studio while she works on her projects.

I just discovered and joined this group. Love it. I've been "doing" Stained Glass since 1973, many of those early years without a Grinder or a Foil Machine. Here's a piece I did while wintering in Arizona.

I had these 4 cool glass plates kicking around for ages now and thought I would do something fun with them - so I designed this pattern. It measures 34" by 23" and weighs 13 pounds. It is all copper foil, framed with zinc Wissmach mix background. Hope you like it!

I love watching my scrap pile of glass going down. My design and pattern, but many designs can be found on the web. This feather was a nice change of pace. Quick cut, foil and assembly. After I did the first one I couldn’t stop. This one is done but I have 3 more ready to assemble. I did put a piece of 18 gauge wire down the center for strength and support. Hope you enjoy the pics.

The line between art created by an artist and a hobbyist is often blurred, but for me, it comes down to motivation. While some may be driven by profit, I create for the joy of the process. I find happiness in the challenges of design, from selecting patterns to experimenting with colors. I take pride in the process, but I prefer to give my art away rather than sell it at high prices. I consider myself a hobbyist, out of respect for professional artists. I source my materials from garage sales and enjoy sharing my creations with others. The joy of creating is what makes it worth it for me.
