In Chapter 13 of Promise Over Purpose, we explore the beautiful truth that there isn’t just one way to live out our calling. Each of us is uniquely equipped to bring God’s love into the world through our own gifts, passions, and circumstances. This chapter reminds us that purpose isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s as diverse as the people God created.

Chapter 7, The Sanctity of Suffering, holds a special place in my heart because it’s rooted in my own story. Writing it was by far the hardest part of Promise Over Purpose. As I sat at my desk, processing the grief and pain of losing four family members in one year, I had to wrestle with some of life’s toughest questions:

Why does God allow suffering?
How do we reconcile pain with His promises?

This chapter challenged me to confront these questions, face my doubts, and lean into the truth that while God doesn’t promise to take our suffering away, He does promise to never leave us in it. His presence is the most comforting gift in the midst of our deepest pain.

As I wrote each word, I walked through my own healing journey—slowly, with tissues and tears, but also with the hope that others would find comfort in knowing that even in our struggles, God is with us, sanctifying our pain and turning it into moments of grace.

We may not always find a purpose for the pain, but we can always rest in His promises. 🌿

If you’re walking through a season of hardship, I hope this chapter reminds you that you are never alone.

I've spent the last few weeks in the recording studio working on the audiobook for Promise Over Purpose. It's been a humbling and challenging experience. 🫶 I am forever grateful for amazing mentors and sound engineers who (1) love the Lord and (2) strive to produce the best gifts for the world. 😊 We even had the chance to lay down some original music tracks yesterday as I fumbled around on the keyboard. 🎹 🤔 This week, I've been reminded that God promises to restore that which the enemy has stolen. 🙏 ⭐️ Trust that He is good. ⭐️ Trust that His love covers a multitude of sins. ⭐️ Trust that He is bigger. Today I am soaking in the last weekend of summer. I opened my journal this morning to write and found these notes from January 2023 when I launched my book writing adventure. 📖 Now that I get to see and hear it put together, it overwhelms me at the grace, power and wisdom of God! Each week I sat, head cradled in my hands, and prayed "Lord, please let them see you."🙏 At times, it was hard, messy and 'all the things.' Some people dismissed it's premise; disagreeing or rejection the position I took on the topic of purpose. But in all things, I still see how His promises remain.
