HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM .
< ATTENTION > TO Everyone on my friends list and : The People's Station UTM RADIO has an announcement to make.
For years we've been known for spinning CLASSIC HIPHOP AND INDEPENDENT ARTIST, it's our tag line. We love hip-hop and the culture it represents.
We've supported it in every aspect possible, from writing, to producing, advertising, showcases etc... and will continue to do so.
However in the past few years there's been a noticeable change to the artform we call hip-hop.
Hip Hop is now a power house in a industry that once clambered for its demise.
Now we are watching our youth fall in to the literal trap of promoting violence and killing each other over lyrics and a lifestyle we promoted to them as successful.
We challenge the youth, the old heads, the top artist, the artist in the middle, and artist under the middle to take our culture in another direction, For 365 days, one full year, write, produce and release positive music, with positive energy!! Give that to the radio stations to play, instead of all this party, drinking, drugs, diamonds, mansions, and cars nonsense.
Write songs about the struggle of this world.
See if they really appreciate your craft or do they love the bottom line??
Hip-hop could be helping the problems of the world, similar to old school reggae.
We have to start somewhere.
That being said, uTm Radio will be spinning only music you can vibe to. NO MORE MURDER MUSIC!!! We will be adding to our lineup.
As of 1-1-24 Classic hip hop and independent artist, and now and again we'll be introducing some R&B for those writing positive songs, also oldies but goodies will be added to our lineup, so whenever you tune into our app you are guaranteed to hear something dope, some positive energy and nothing negative. Grown folks do Grown things, and we believe this is the grown up thing to do.
