Calling all small business owners! The Mt. Airy CDC Go Mt. Airy is hosting its annual Business Expo on Nov 14. This day-long event offers opportunities to learn new skills and connect with others in the community and across the city. They’ll have presenters from Temple Small Business Development Center, The Merchants Fund, Philadelphia Department of Commerce, SCORE Mentors, BRIC at the Free Library, and many more. Come out to crack the code on AI, learn merchandising best practices, gain a better understanding of grant writing, find out how to tell your brand story on a budget, and more!

The $25 registration fee covers a continental breakfast, a full day of programming (feel free to drop in and out), and happy hour refreshments. Lunch is available for an additional $15, and you can also add-on a professional headshot for $25. Learn more and register ➡️mtairycdc.org/bizexpo.

In 2022 I applied for Lenfest Institute for Journalism Philadelphia Media Founder's Exchange Unfortunately I was not selected for the inaugural cohort. 😥 I was disappointed. I took the denial email very hard, partly because this denial was a part of what I felt like was like an "abundance of denials". I shared how I was feeling with Dr. Guthrie Ramsey and he treated me to a pastry and a vanilla chai at ☕🍪☕ While we were there Dr. Guthrie Ramsey encouraged me, affirmed me and set me straight. His words *verbatim "Don't let this "no" define you/validate you or your work. I felt waaaaay better after our conversation. 😁😁😁

FAST FWD 2023 application process I was not going to apply, that was until Jos Duncan Asé and encouraged me to apply. I was reluctant to apply but did anyway. 📝 And now here we are on the other side of the process 🎉✨🎉 and I think it's important that I point to the fact that any success I have attained happened inside of community. I am fortunate to have a community of people that encourage me, uplift me, advise me and correct me and I am grateful for it. 🙏🏿THANK YOU ALL!

I case you didn't know I am the proud father of two daughters. My seven year old daughter is a girl scout and it's that time of the year to sell cookies. Lee at Avenues Café agreed to let us sell girl scout cookies in his location every Saturday for the month of February ( He's amazing!)

First's don't happen, often when they do come we should celebrate them. With that being said; I am celebrating the first video project of 's that will be televised. Tonight at 6:00pm on (Comcast channels 64 and 1164 / Verizon channels 40 and 41) will be the full version of Mister Mann's Jam Session at City Winery 7/25/21 by the multi talented .
