Our guest for episode 6 is Sally Shaughnessy, the operations lead for Bella Boutique, a non-profit based in Denver that provides free formalwear to teens in financial need. She has worked with Bella since 2015. is committed to improving her local community and has been involved with non-profits and volunteering for twenty plus years, since her college days in Western Massachusetts.

Prom can cost a teenage girl over $1,000 on average when you factor in a dress, shoes, jewelry, purse, hair, and makeup as well as the ticket, transportation and floral expenses. Middle- and lower- class families cannot always afford this.  Bella Boutique has stepped up and been there for these families since 2014.

There are very few organizations doing it quite the way is - completely free and totally comprehensive. They distribute prom and homecoming gowns, tuxedos, shoes, accessories and vouchers for free hair and makeup to teens on free and reduced lunch or facing transient financial hardship.  They are based in Denver and have had students drive from all over the state of Colorado and as far as Montana, Nebraska and Wyoming

Proud to be a part of this young mans journey!! I helped Raphael lose 65 LBS, which was a requirement for him to meet the standard of the United States Coast Guard. He was ready to ship off and he made a massive mistake that took that opportunity away from him. Everyone who had been a part of his success up to that point were gutted. It took time, but he dusted himself off and used his loss as fuel for his next challenge. Check out episode 5 (link in bio) to hear what happened and what myself and are doing to give back to someone who is in the need of a mentor. One thing I can say is that we all learned 2 things
1- FAILURE IS NOT THE OPPOSITE OF SUCCESS , IT’S PART OF IT !!
2- I look way more badass with a sick Beard

My dads friend was able to get us in touch with P2 - Autism Advocacy & Support and the Founder, Jared Silverstein a few weeks ago. Let me tell ya he was the man to talk to and get things done with no haste .
My younger brother Daniel is 9 with autism and we recently lost both our parents within a few year time span. Jared listened and asked us what they could do for us to make things easier for us and I mentioned what Daniel loved most. He loves trains and sharks, his iPad and his Nintendo Switch. I also mentioned what he needed which was school clothes.
The next word out of Jared’s mouth was “Done” just like that. He hooked us up with Annual tickets to Northlandz a train museum for kids, and model trains for Daniel to play with, Annual tickets for the Aquarium for the sharks, games for his switch, new school clothes and a new iPad since Daniel’s is broken. This was all with no cost for me which takes the weight off my shoulders financially.
Thanks to this wonderful organization and Jared, Daniel is going to have a much better rest of the year with his wishes coming true. Saying thanks doesn’t hold the true meaning of how grateful we truly are.
Forever grateful

NEW EPISODE IS LIVE!!!!!
Link is in the bio to listen, share & subscribe.

In Episode 3, Jared Silverstein introduces us to P2 - Autism Advocacy & Support, a non profit that helps provide Autism support & awareness. His organization’s goal is to help provide Autism support for one local family at a time, helping to find the missing piece to give back to families through financial resources and make them whole again.

In the winter months of 2021, a fundraiser was started among the members of Philadelphia Fire department for the family of Brian Dolan, a proud member of Ladder 29 who died tragically while off duty on May 10, 2018. He was survived by his wife, Laura, and their children Brian, Gywn, and Danny. The children also suffered another tragedy when they lost their mother less then 3 years later on February 10th, 2021. Brian Jr. recently finished his distinguished service with the United States Air Force. He was not only tasked with navigating the challenges of losing both of his parents, but was also thrust into the role of taking care of his youngest brother, Danny, who is diagnosed with Autism.

Brian Jr wouldn’t be alone in this journey. With just days left before the recording of this episode, Jared and his team welcomed the Dolans into the P2 family without hesitation.

Stephen McNally, and the current members of Ladder 29, were instrumental in getting this family the help they need and keeping Brian Sr’s legacy alive. Their actions are proof that the long honored traditions of the are still present.

Leading by example is important, the next generation is watching. is an alumni member of . In his own words below find out what the program means to him.

“I went through the program in 2016 and 2017 when I was a Jr. and Sr. in high school. It helped me tremendously preparing for the SAT. I was at the University of New Hampshire for two years and now playing at ASA college in Brooklyn. I continue to come back because I feel like it is important to pass along all the things I’ve learned being at the d1 level to the next generations. To me that’s what it is all about, helping prepare them to make it as far as they want to go in life. I’m very thankful to Jack for giving me the outlet and opportunity to pass it down.”
