Penta Career Center's 13th annual Cruise-In takes place Wednesday, September 25, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the campus, 9301 Buck Road, Perrysburg Township. Vehicle and motorcycle owners are admitted free with the donation of a non-perishable food item or personal hygiene item for the Penta Pantry.

In honor of those killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has ordered the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio to be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Ohio from sunrise to sunset on September 11, 2024.

The Glass Peaks Senior Living Community with the assistance of the League of Women Voters Toledo-Lucas County is holding a 9/11 Memorial meet and greet event at the residence, 3501 Executive Parkway, Toledo from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11. The event is free and open to the public.

The Springfield Local Schools BOE is introducing a new payment system to their school lunch program, allowing parents to deposit money into their students' accounts and make monthly payments to provide them with meals.

Barbara Orange, chairwoman of the Lucas County Republican Party, is leading in the hosting of an event in conjunction with the Alliance for a Safe Texas on the southern border crisis and illegal immigration's impact on Northwest Ohio this Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The event will be at the Lucas County Republican Party Headquarters, 1306 Kittle Road in Holland.

Last Friday's edition of the Holland-Springfield Journal featured the award-winning cars from the Wicked Wheels Car Show that took place on August 9 at Homecoming Park. Over 2,000 people visited the show this year, more than double last year's numbers!

UPDATE: As of 11:45 AM, traffic on both sides of the road is open, with the westbound lanes completely open while eastbound remains reduced to one lane. Drive with caution at this time.

Due to a series of fatal crashes on both sides of the Ohio Turnpike, ALL eastbound and westbound traffic is being diverted off of the highway near the Lucas County-Fulton County line. The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission has posted diversion routes for both sides of the highway.
