The arrival of the usually ushers in the start of cooler, fall weather here in Pensacola. That wasn’t really the case this year, but we enjoyed this fun, family tradition nonetheless. It was an exciting day back in May as Team volunteers braved the wind and rain to participate in with beautifying five homes for seniors on the same street in the Peoplestown community in Atlanta. Activities included landscaping, repairs on siding and handrails, building of planters and small floating decks, general cleaning of the property and other various tasks.

Data Science & Analytics team, you did an amazing job in some pretty gnarly weather!

As always, it was a pleasure for me to be able to participate in and document this exciting day, and I’m looking forward to our next event happening soon!

🔍 “It’s all about the details!” 🔍

This idea was ingrained in me by my friend, Dave Wright, when we worked together in the communications office of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Great works rely on the precision of small details. Successful artists/builders/craftsman/leaders embrace this fact.

I was reminded last week of the challenge, and dare I say frustration, of trying to solve big-picture problems with someone who doesn’t grasp—or care to grasp—the specifics. Simply throwing things at the wall and hoping something sticks is not a strategy. Random guesses won’t cut it.

💪🏻 We must master the details. 🏆

St. Peter’s is one of the most renowned works of Renaissance architecture in the world. Designed by master artists like Michelangelo, its awe-inspiring dome and breathtaking interior are adorned with intricate details.

🌟 Shoutout to the incredible team at Running Wild! 🌟

Megan and Todd went above and beyond to help me find the perfect pair of shoes. Despite some challenges, Megan tirelessly pushed through to make sure I had the right fit, and both she and Todd stayed an extra half hour past closing to ensure an amazing customer experience. That’s what exceptional service looks like! 👏

Bonus: My little girl had a blast sitting in the fun seats and making friends with Dash, the adorable stuffed dog! 🐶😊

This is true in every area, but I see it most clearly in the creative process and in engineering tasks. Our abilities come from the Lord, and we must labor. But, “[u]nless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). I rarely plan or imagine all the good works that He produces.

Another great example is this little two-year-old girl holding my hand and my heart. ❤️😊

This is one of my favorite pics from the 2022 Trinitas Aesthetics Trip. It feels strange not seeing these young men on campus this year, but I know they have been well equipped to be life-long learners pursuing virtue and showing an appreciation for the true, the good and the beautiful. They have been taught how to think and not just what to think. And, their affections have been trained with a focus on the heart and not just the head, characterized by love for God and love for neighbor. May God grant them grace to be salt and light in all the places He takes them.
