AGAIN Facebook is confusing adjectives with nouns and calling our artwork Drugs. We do this every few years and it takes FOREVER until FB legal signs off on it again and they NEVER put notes in my acct. So in 4 years we do this dance again.

A Lecture about Blotter Art and Marm McCloud

Josh Cola, a University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts senior, has been selected to give the 29th annual Edward T. Breathitt Undergraduate Lectureship in the Humanities. Cola’s lecture will explore Mark McCloud's departure from the blotter art movement of the 1990’s.

I'm just in a jolly mood and wanted to say something to you other collectors, because so few would get it. Doesn't it bring a certain satisfaction to gift someone their first piece of blotter art? Witnessing the folks Jimi lovingly called "experienced" as their expression shifts from initial bewildered confusion to that knowing goofy grin of relocation is a particular joy. But the real treasure lies in the tale that often follows. When the recipient, inspired by the artwork, launches into an account of a true adventure they embarked upon – a journey that blurs the lines between reality and memory. In detail that would make Tolkien jealous, you'll hear harrowing tales like the one time they had to endure the long treacherous journey from the living room to the sliding glass door that took actual joy in separating them from their friends in the backyard. Then, akin to a true hero's journey, how they rose above the fact that the door was closed to them, only to triumphantly slide the door open and celebrated the victory in the sun surrounded by friends. Stories may vary based on location & time. These anecdotes, infused with the essence of their experiences (real or vividly imagined) are the true treasures in the genre of blotter art. We have a very rare signed print from our vault up on the auction block.
A Ram Dass signed copy of Rev. Samuels' "Patriots Against Probation" L*D Blotter Print.
He was truly one of our forefathers of psychedelic pioneers and helped the US open it's 3rd eye wide. 10 day auction, no reserve. I hope it finds a good home where it'll be appreciated. *D *dblotterart *dblotteracid
