Hey – You’ve found Bama’s Q, an online 70s and 80s radio station based in Ozark, Alabama. Ozark is affectionately known by a number of monikers – Oz, The Land of Oz, Zark-a-go-go, Krazo, and the list goes on. But, I digress …

If you’re wondering what the “Q” is all about – It was a thing, a BIG thing for radio in the 70s and 80s. Around here, it was Q97 in Enterprise. I was fortunate to spend a few years “working” there while in college.

The Q was a pretty amazing place. Wayne Newton’s brother owned the station. It had a bit of new gear and a lot of older stuff that was lovingly restored by a guy, Dr. Voltage, from here in Ozark. In fact, he grew up in the house across the street from our magnificent studios just off the square in Ozark. He’s a pretty amazing guy and I’m still in touch with him.
