The Oxford Community Garden began with a calling to help the people in our community that are food unstable. The garden is a place for anyone who needs healthy food to come and take whatever they can use. You do not need permission to come and take food. The only thing I ask is that while you are there, you also pull a w**d or two. The garden is made possible by donations of time, materials, and f
unding from members of our community. The Community Garden was approved by the City of Oxford in 2014, and is located on the East side of Creekside Park (next to the Butterfly Garden). We built our beds, with the help of around 100 CCE students, by layering cardboard or newspaper, leaves, compost, dry grass clippings, hay & fertilizer. I am looking for volunteers to help with any aspect of the gardening project! If you have materials that you would like to contribute, or would like to donate your time to this project I would love to have you contact me. The mission of the garden is: to teach people of all ages how to garden, to build relationships in our community, and to provide healthy food to people in need. Thank you to everyone who has committed themselves to this project; whether it's been through donations, knowledge, or time.
