Support of our 2nd Amendment is paramount to ensure a safe and civilized society, an armed populace is much less likely to be victimized by those who would prey on the weak and unprotected.
Firearm ownership, though, carries a responsibility to be educated in the safe handling, proficient use, and secure storage of these weapons. Far too many times during the course of my career in law enforcement, have I witnessed the senseless tragedy when fi****ms find their way into hands of those who do not respect their lethality; many of these are children.
It is the latter’s point, that I encourage early introduction to the shooting sports through Firearm Safety Classes and Hunting Safety Courses. Both of which have the added benefit of ensuring the continuation of our hunting heritage and teaches us many of life’s greatest lessons; patience, preserve range, respect, responsibility, and even how to cope with disappointment. Lessons from which we can all benefit.”
