Malik is a newer member of WTOP-10, and is the Assistant VP of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion within the station. Yesterday was the Keynote Speaker Event with EbonĂ© Bell collaborating with “I Am Oz” inside Sheldon Hall Ballroom, for the 2024 ALANA Multicultural Leadership Conference Week. EbonĂ© Bell spoke to students about engaging with their community and shared her presentation “Level Up Leadership” where she shared her experiences on learning skills like showing empathy and advocating for yourself.

Our semesterly Title IX Training will be taking place Thursday, September 19th at 4:30PM in Marano Campus Center 132. This will be a Kahoot! Trivia Session, with prizes for the top 3 scorers in the session. This training is mandatory for all positions TIER III AND HIGHER, ALL TALENT & ALL CREW MEMBERS. If you are planning on being on-camera or off-camera in any production, come to this mandatory event. You must sign up for this event in advance or at the training. Earlier today, Toppers Dylan Zielinski and Paulie Baidy visited Alden High School in Alden, NY to teach students about WTOP-10! Students had the opportunity to learn more of what we do at the studio, as well as how WTOP-10 provides valuable experience and shapes members to be prepared for their futures in the broadcasting world. This lesson was given to students in the school’s broadcasting class, WACS News. Awesome work, Paulie and Dylan!

You can find him on various crew positions for news and OPs, as well as on-screen as an anchor, or leading offscreen as an Assistant News Producer. Matthew is also our Special Events Director for the 2024-2025 academic year, and has been doing an amazing job with this position so far! Congratulations, Matthew!
