On Sunday, at roughly 12:30pm, earth lost an angel, mother , spouse and amazing creative in the art community. Those that knew already can attest to a strong rooted motherly instinct, but a wild fun woman who loved to laugh and make others join in. Her superhero status was achieved by being a shining example of motherhood. She was my “Sister from another mister,” my best friend, my co-founder and host, my right arm in every single art project I ventured into, and gave profound advice and support in all my endeavors. By day, she was super-mom, by night, sister and friend. Many nights I lie on my sofa in pain, unable to focus or make art, but she was always there in my ear, talking to me and encouraging me. I pray that you find someone as close and rooted in your life, and latch onto that blessing as long as you can. Tell your friends you love them when you get the chance (sooner the better). Life is too short to wait another day.

Brother and Sister (Not by Birth)

In October 2015, my life changed forever. Through communication with a friend online, I was introduced to a new beta social media platform called Blab. From this platform, I was able to meet many like-minded creatives from across the globe, expanding my horizons in connecting and communicating with others. One of those individuals would grow to become more than just a user behind a camera.

Lindsay Badger—her last name was even cool—graced the platform with charisma, enthusiasm, support, and most notably, uncontrolled, unfiltered, and raw laughter, which was more contagious than anything on the planet. Laughter is medicine for the soul, and Lindsay could bring out the best in anyone she met, whether in person or online.

At the time, I was undergoing a very toxic treatment regimen, so I was feeling pretty down. I was at a low point: weak, tired all the time, and insecure about my identity as a creative. I found myself staying up late night after night on Blab, and talking to others immensely helped my anxiety and depression, overshadowing what I was going through at home with my treatment.

As fate would have it, one night I joined a Blab session where Lindsay was in the window, cracking jokes, being herself, and making everyone feel at ease. The more we talked, the more we realized we had a lot in common, especially regarding comics and pop culture. Our love for pop culture, movies, TV shows, comics, and "geek culture" grew. Then one day, I asked her if she wanted to do a podcast together and talk about the things we loved most. It didn't take more than a millisecond for her to say, "Abso-fricken-lutely!"

It was then that our bond grew. I realized over time that she was the sister I never had. I grew up a loner, an only child due to my hereditary medical conditions. Having a little sister, someone I could truly confide in no matter the time of day or where, was a blessing.

Many nights, I would lie on my couch in pain from hemophilia, unable to focus on a movie or television, and she would say, "Let's hop in a chat and hang out." Many, and I do mean many, nights she cured my soul of depression and anxiety through the power of laughter and friendship. No one on this earth will ever know the depth of the conversations we shared, covering both personal lives and medical issues I was going through. Our friendship grew into something extraordinary.

Almost 10 years later, we thrived together as co-founders of a successful podcast called "PopXcast," co-founders of "The Creative Multiverse," and we assisted each other with our websites and coding. In recent months, she was fighting her own battles of divorce, job security, and setting up a new and successful life for herself. She had all the cards in place to come out on the other side of the divorce as a stronger woman, with a new job as Creative Director at Rose State College, just this past month.

Then, the unthinkable happened. The unimaginable.

In the days, weeks, and months ahead, it will be my job to carry on her legacy of art, bringing friends together in the vein of absolute laughter and joy, and uniting creatives to find purpose in pain, which is what she did. She had an uncanny ability to hyper-focus all the crap she was going through personally into art and creativity, never allowing a single drop of negativity to ruin her goals. She was (and is) an incredible mother to her two children, the best example of motherhood for many to look up to. Her magnetic personality was obviously her greatest superpower, that and a random corny joke sprinkled in.

To those who knew her, everything I've written you already know to be 100% factual. To those who never met her, her legacy lives on in her live streams, YouTube, Twitch, and streaming channels. Search through her channels, reminisce, and let her laughter continue to heal your soul the way it does mine.

There’s just something magical about holding a physical comic, turning the pages, and the intoxicating aroma of a fresh book in your hands.

Bonus: many comic shops bring out cosplayers for photo ops, including storm troopers and Star Wars characters, and even being in local artists to sell their works in store! They also provide board games and raffles as well, just check with your LCBS (local comic book shop) on the day’s activities.

This just in, purchases MGM Studios for $8.5 Billion. James Bond is now an Amazon employee.

The tech giant has closed its $8.5 billion deal to acquire MGM, the home of the Bond franchise and one of the most iconic movie studios in Hollywood history, Amazon announced Thursday.

The move looks to bolster the company's position in the entertainment world while giving its streaming service, Amazon Prime Video, even more content to fill its already extensive library. This should help Amazon challenge rivals such as Netflix (NFLX) and Disney+ in the hyper competitive streaming market.
