Review: Amidst a whimsical, but oftentimes silly comedic film were the building blocks to the foundation of Marvel Phase 5.

Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania had a very simplistic plot that lacked depth. However, it introduced what is surely to be a centralized them of "stronger together". Can our Marvel superheroes from across the multiverse with different extraordinary ability and backgrounds ban together to defeat a tyrannical "Conqueror"? They might need to before the Conqueror's ideology manifest itself in other like him. Yes, the political irony was not lost on me.

Marvel/Disney's focus is clearly on the empowerment of strong female leads and diversity as seen in the Island of Misfit characters of the Quantum Realm. Where they missed the mark in this film was the rudimentary special effects and lack of substantive script writing to elevate a classic comic storytelling.

The glaring bright spot in all of the hokeyness is actor Jonathan Majors. His debut portrayal of Kang The Conqueror is a satisfying appetizer that will keep you enthusiastically yearn for the main course. Throughout Marvel Phase 5, Majors is seemingly on a quest to deliver masterclass performances of different variants of Kang showcasing his range and methodology.

Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania leaves children with a message that even the littlest of us all can make a difference and there's always room to grow even as adults. The concept of time and its value shouldn't be lost on the audience as well.

Will our Marvel Superheroes learn this lesson before cosmic catastrophe ensues?

Only TIME will tell.⏳️
