Well it was one hell of an evening and quite the spectacle on this chilly March night in Orlando. Live from the Boardwalk Bowl was Genesis Tv tapings. Just a small humble crowd masked up and eager gathered outside the bowling alley, excited to see what the local talent had to offer. A diverse group of wrestling fans, spanning from all ages and from all walks of life, intimately sat just a few feet from the ring and were treated to a spectacular show. Interestingly enough, a familiar face was among us , we know him as buddy Murphy, whether he was there to scout or there as a fan he definitely seemed to enjoy himself. After making quick eye contact with him we both acknowledged eachother in respectful recognition, and quickly the show began. One of the Tagout Crew’s favorites was first to arrive by the name of Florida Blue. We absolutely love the charasmatic energy he offers. Instant crowd engagement started, and after attending these shows, I can observe that the wrestlers really enjoy the call and response feedback. We watched an excellent tag match play out and there after every match was entertaining and right to the point. With some great hard hitting action and internse slams, the talented wrestlers began to use the environment to their advantage, much like a black box style theatre. A melodrama with body slams and flashier characters began to play out and every single wrestler enjoyed themselves and were entertaining to watch. The more engagement they had the better the match was. Most notably to point out was Rude boy Ryan law. With a rough and tough New York style attitude, he yelled to the crowd with such conviction, like a bulldog that hadn’t seen its owner in multiple days. “Shut up, Shut up” he yelled and just frighting enough to make you think he may actually hate you. The gimmick worked perfectly and should never be stopped. As we sat impatient for the main event between Angel Fashion and Mark Davidson, we saw new developments in stories. The Russel Twins were in action and after defending thier belts yet again, they were attacked by Ripper Zybko and Chris Rockwell. The crowd ate this up, becuse they were excited to see Rockwell again after such an entertaining debut the first time around. Chris’s heel tactics were so on point the crowd could not wait to see more. The pairing of these looked very good and they delivered a very believable storyline for a tag team that was recently put together. I instantly had the reaction of “this is genius!”, and was very interested already for the impending tag match with the Russel Twins. Another team emerged that caught my eye, a massive Luchador alongside a familiar wrestler from the main event grabbed the mics and showcased a hysterical display of promos and even better quick technical Lucha libre wrestling. I was throughly entertained by these two and couldn’t help but laugh and stand in applause at the very enjoyable segaments. We saw the women’s champion once again this time to confront Leila Gray post match about the attack from the last show. Leila had just put on one hell of a display of action against a formidable foe playing into the Polynesian character very well. After Leila won and some quick arguemtns, with a little flair of heat, followed and yet again Raven Marie the women’s champion was attacked by a mystery woman. With the attackers face still covered, Leila swore she had nothing to do with it. The story just keeps unfolding, and is working well like a slow controlled burn. The Russel Twins along with Izaziah Zane, Jonny Lyons, Vertigo, and New York Rican all delivered spectacularly in the ring and before we knew it, the time for the main event was up. My heart was racing trying catch up to all the excitement of the evening. Mark Davidson’s and Angel Fashion then put on one of the better indie matches I have seen in a long time. The constant chatter among the two added to the ambiance of both characters, including high flying moves, big hard hitting strikes and cleanly looking impactful moves eventually led these two to spill out in to the crowd. Over the barricade they both went bringing the over the top action up close and incredibly personal. With Angel successfully defending his title in a well received, and clean finish gave praise to Mark, saying “the young talents future is very bright.” After another interaction with the formidable Luchadors from earlier, a colorful war of words played out, until words were no longer an option. With carnage and bodies afoot, the show ended, keeping the crowd wanting more. This little promotion that has captivated me more than once has delivered a fine piece of pro wrestling, that all ages and fans can enjoy locally and safely. Well done Pro wrestling 2.0!
