Update:
So we are in Steamboat. We taped up the window, had a new key fob made, and successfully acquired our passenger, Mr Gates.
He had to suck up up for a while in 20 degree weather with no window until we found a Home Depot and McGyvered the crap outta one of the windows.
Everyone is safe…tired…frustrated and in desperate need of a massage, Tylenol, and a drink.
Walked into hotel at exactly last call. Final nut punch of the day.
Thank you to all the incredibly kind folks who offered help, shelter, their personal vehicles, and tons of support today. I truly appreciate it all. Seriously…Texas Music Family is truly something to behold.
Thank you to Jakin and my brother from another mother Tony Gates for sticking this thing out with me and being patient while I went through my rollercoaster of shock, anger, anger, anger, anger, hunger, uncontrollable shivering, anger, and hunger.
Nicole PurifoyPurifoy for being supportive form a far while I did all the songs and dances with locksmiths, tow companies, rental car agencies, police, and the rest of the list of amazingly unhelpful people of the day.
Thank you to those who called, txt, offered clothing and camera gear. If I haven’t personally thanked you, know that I appreciate it. I haven’t had a minute to even check the messages yet. Jakin kept me apprised of your support.
Thank you to Shannon Ford for the Bud Light at last call. Screw the Cabin for closing at 10:00.
Thanks for all the hugs and kind words from all the friends at the Grand when we arrived.
Bottom line is, we are here. We are safe. Everything can be fixed and replaced. In the grand scheme of things, it’s just stuff and inconvenience. I am blessed to have so many friends and family around me who are so supportive and caring.
Tomorrow I’ll talk to insurance and find out what my options are.
I promise I will do my level best with what I have left to stay positive and share the MusicFest photos each day for you guys. We will figure this out.
And I promise I will take a shower and find some clean clothes.
All good in the hood. Love y’all.
