NOT CLOSING: Contrary to rumors, Dollar Tree and Marshalls at The Promenade of Evansville are not closing.

Eyewitness News WEHT WTVW reported on December 28, 2023, that the building known as The Village at The Promenade, was being foreclosed and sold. Even though they stated both Marshalls and Dollar Tree will remain open, rumors have started to swirl that both stores will be closing. This is not true, as both stores will remain open!

According to Eyewitness News, K2 Retail Evansville LLC defaulted on their loan from Fund Investment 111, LLC, which helped fund the construction of The Village. The property and building was recently put up for auction following the foreclosure, with bids starting at $4 million. The building was purchased by Fund Investment 111, LLC for $6.5 million.

K2 Retail is based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan and purchased the property for the new development in 2020. The developer previously had issues, as Burkes Outlet and Home Centric backed out of this development in the early stages. 5 spots were recently for lease through Veritas Realty, but due to the foreclosure, the listings have been taken down.

Marshalls opened in March 2022, while Dollar Tree opened in December 2022 at The Promenade of Evansville.
