PRAYERS & SUPPORT NEEDED ‼️

On January 8th, we discovered that the home of Nelson Marsh, Mary Katherine Marsh, and Lily Marsh, Wyatt Dean and Rebekah Dean, Jonny Whyte and Hannah Leigh Whyte, and Renae Roach was on fire.

All of these people are young ambitious Opelikans. Nelson and Mary Katherine have just opened Piedmont on Piedmont, Hannah is an anchor of Side Track Coffee and Johnny an anchor of the O Grows Community Garden and Wyatt and Becky are in the process of opening a ramen shop on 10th street.

After this devastating tragedy, these incredible individuals and their families are left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Starting over is never easy, especially as couples and families who have poured their hearts into building something meaningful for our town.

MEET OUR PEOPLE! 🗣🙌

Say hello to John Marsh, one of the visionaries behind Marsh Collective! Over the past 25 years, John and his wife, Ash, have helped launch 60+ startups in industries like hospitality, construction, real estate investing, and restaurants. But their real passion? Breathing life back into small towns—starting with their own! They’ve renovated over 280 buildings within ten blocks of downtown Opelika, all to save their city’s heart and soul.

These days, John is focused on making a generational impact by connecting people with big dreams to practical solutions—bridging the gap between vision, financial sustainability, and what we call "Irreplaceable Real Estate."

When he’s not revitalizing communities, you’ll find him diving deep into statistics, overcomplicating his smoothies, and being an ENFP 3 through and through. Oh, and he’s also proud to be a granddad, sharing life with his sons and grandkids in Opelika.

Piedmont on Piedmont is being designed as an Italian-inspired wine bar and cafe concept located in the heart of downtown Opelika, Alabama. Here, mornings will start with the rich aroma of freshly pulled espressos, and evenings drift into the warmth of handpicked wines that tell stories from the rolling hills of Italy.

From vision board sessions to mixing the perfect patterns to drape this space with, this passion project of ours is one that we cannot wait for you to experience with us soon!

In a charming city just outside of Chicago, we’re thrilled to be collaborating on a project that’s all about turning possibilities into reality. Where there once was a livery and a bank, we’re creating something fabulous—a fine dining restaurant and a cozy café.

At Marsh Collective, we’re passionate about the power of gathering in places designed with intention. This project is a beautiful example of how we love to activate iconic food and beverage experiences, unique overnight stays, and celebratory event spaces to breathe new life into small towns.

As we work to transform this space into a destination where memories will be made, we’re reminded of the magic that happens when people come together in places crafted with care. Stay tuned as we continue this journey with Momence!
