Scott Lynam and I covered the horrendous destruction from the tornado hitting a vast swatch of our area for NBC. I haven't seen such damage in our own back yard since the May 1975 tornado. I think this was worst. I am heartened by the outpouring of volunteers, and the determination of home owners to rebuild their homes and lives.

He provided Bev Chapman and I the opening Everest scenes for our documentary Nawang Gombu: Heart of a Tiger. He founded GlacierWorks which has documented the rapid glacial retreat throughout the Himalaya.
