Canada has officially opened its first-ever free grocery store, and it’s changing lives!
Located in Regina, Saskatchewan, and run by the Regina Food Bank, this store looks and feels just like a regular supermarket with shelves lined with fruits, vegetables, dairy, and daily essentials.
But here’s the heartwarming part, everything inside is free for those in need. Eligible families can shop with dignity, choosing what they need instead of receiving pre-packed hampers.
The initiative, supported by BMO and local organizations, allows clients to take home groceries worth up to $200 every two weeks, giving relief to hundreds struggling with food insecurity.
The goal is simple yet powerful, to restore choice, respect, and hope to every household.
This project has inspired many across Canada, proving that kindness can feed not just stomachs but souls.
