About AT's Weather – Aaron Tuttle, Meteorologist
Aaron Tuttle is a degreed meteorologist with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Texas A&M University. With a strong foundation in physics, chemistry, math, software programming, and engineering, he brings a broad scientific perspective to his work in both government and media meteorology. Aaron began his career in television, working for KBT
X, KTUL, and KOCO in Oklahoma City, where he spent 12 years in the news industry before retiring in 2007. He also contributed to research at Texas A&M’s Meteorology Department, where he maintained the mesonet, built departmental websites, and supported field studies. Today, he works for the federal government, focusing on radar technologies and weather safety. In 2014, he officially launched Aaron Tuttle LLC as a company to bring together multiple ventures:
Live Weather Coverage & Forecasting: Reaches over 200,000 followers across Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Locals. Known for real-time storm coverage and practical forecasting. Free Mobile App: ATsWeatherToGo is available on Apple and Google Play, offering hyperlocal alerts and radar tracking. Consulting: Provides expert weather and radar analysis to law firms, insurance carriers, and engineering groups for litigation and claims. Media Production: Creates professional commercials and content for TV, radio, and online campaigns. Fitness & Wellness: Founder of ATs FitClub, combining experience as an NPC Classic Physique competitor (two Master's wins) with health-focused content. Real Estate: Licensed REALTOR® with Team Tuttle Realty, working alongside his wife to serve Oklahoma homebuyers and sellers. In 2010, he was the first independent meteorologist to produce complete weather content on social media. He later became the first to livestream tornado coverage on Facebook and YouTube—directly challenging traditional TV. In 2025, he moved to a subscription-based model for live storm coverage, setting a new industry precedent in response to growing issues of misinformation and content piracy. Outside of meteorology, Aaron enjoys home improvement, auto repair, and DIY projects. He's a proud Texas Aggie, lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, and has appeared in Okie Noodling 2, Say Yes to the Dress, and Big Bad BBQ Brawl. This page is updated in Aaron’s free time to provide weather updates, radar analysis, forecasts, and educational insights. Content is independent and does not represent the views of his employer. During major weather events, Aaron may livestream coverage, depending on availability. Always keep alternate sources such as NOAA Weather Radio, local media, and weather apps (including his own) for warnings and alerts.

Currently two tornado warnings ongoing for small QLCS-type tornadoes. One was confirmed over Purcell earlier this morning with a debris signature.
They are very short-lived and move quick at 60-70 mph.
Use my free weather app to get early notifications of tornado development. ATsWeatherToGo in play stores.

Friday Lunchtime Live: Christmas Preview
12/09/2025
This is the 384-hour (16 days out) forecast from the GFS (good for shhh) model. It shows a winter storm Christmas morning with ice.
This output will be shared on social media by countless weather grifters in an effort to make money on your clicks and shares. They won't tell you this is garbage; they will give the impression it will happen. A real meteorologist with ethics, morals, integrity, and common sense would never do this. Everyone else, meh, it's 2025 NPC engagement farming.
On a side note, two cold fronts this weekend. The first front on Friday isn't going to be that strong. The second front moves in Saturday evening. So Sunday will be the coldest day of the weekend, with lots of areas in the 30s for the afternoon. -AT

New data is interesting. I'll have an update for subscribers this evening. ❄️

A Wintry mix continues. Winter Weather Advisory in effect. Slick bridges and overpasses.
Radar Pro Tip:
Heavy precipitation is easily seen on the radar map. However, very light freezing drizzle is often hidden due to ground clutter filtering that cuts off values less than 10 dBz. So you may not see it on reflectivity/national radar mode. To look for it, switch the radar option to velocity (in menu). That data is not filtered. In the image below you can clearly see a wall of freezing drizzle moving east. That will coat roadways quickly. Be careful!
Download my free weather app, ATsWeatherToGo, to track our winter storms.

Winter storm still on track for Monday. Right now appears to be light accumulations of a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow. I'll have more over the coming days and hopefully a live or two. -AT

There are a lot of maps circulating about the predicted SWA (Sudden Stratospheric Warming) Event occurring towards the end of this month. These events are common and happen during our winter season. I've seen the models predict these correctly, and I've seen them vanish and never occur. It's still early in the cycle, and the output is all over the place. In theory, it would bring cold air down at the end of November and for the first 2 weeks of December. So I'll be updating as the data unfolds.
The first map is the SWA warm red blob high up in the atmosphere. The other two are from the European model. The operational physics-based and the AI model. You see that they differ drastically for our temperatures on the 28th of November. One is in the upper 60s and one is in the low 50s. They both can't be right, obviously.
Here's my final point: we're heading into our Winter Season, where we do get occasional strong cold fronts. So in the end, for me to tell you cold air is coming is nothing groundbreaking. -AT

I retired as a TV meteorologist from Channel 5 in Oklahoma City back in 2007. I changed career paths and now work for the federal government focused on radars and weather safety.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M University. A degreed meteorologist is basically a physicist, chemist, software programmer, and mathematician with just a touch of engineering. It's a pretty complex field and makes for a well rounded scientist that has a pretty good grasp on a variety of topics.
I've worked at 3 TV stations after graduation; KBTX, KTUL and KOCO. Two more if you include intern/volunteering at KXAS and KTVT while in college. Also after graduating from Texas A&M I stayed on with the Meteorology Department as a Research Technician and participated in various research projects/studies, designed department webpages, and maintained the A&M mesonet. That was a lot of fun!
My latest endeavor was to expand ATsWeather into a company name to encompass various side projects from my website, to my free weather app, to an on-air media talent, to consulting, and finally fitness with ATsFitClub.
I am available for speaking engagements after 6pm M-F and on some lunches and weekends. I charge a $200 appearance fee for my time/service. I can also provide you a customized weather forecast for planning big events. Price is set at various rates depending upon the time and frequency required. Email or message me for more info.
I update this page in my spare time to inform you about adverse weather conditions, provide helpful forecasts, post raw data, or anything else I find of interest in the field of Meteorology. I provide this as a free service to you. The views here are my own and do not represent my employer or any other entity.
During some events I may be able to post or broadcast live in real-time with radar images, analysis, etc. Other times I may be working. Always keep a NOAA Weather Radio handy to get information from the National Weather Service during warnings. Other options are smart phone apps like my own ATsWeatherToGo, TV, radio, and as a last resort, tornado sirens when present in your town/city.
A few more things about me...I'm a 'Do It Yourself' kind of guy and I pretty much like to get my hands dirty on whatever the subject matter. My dad was a contractor for many years so I learned a lot of things related to home repair/improvement. I'm also a shade tree mechanic and performed the majority of my auto repairs over the years. I enjoy competing as an NPC amateur in bodybuilding and won two shows in my Master’s category of Classic Physique. My two favorite sports teams are the Dallas Cowboys and my Fight'n Texas Aggies!
I had a brief cameo in the movie, Okie Noodling 2, where a weather segment was used to talk about flooding during the yearly event. I was invited to shoot a western movie by a production company in Enid, but couldn't due to time constraints. However, I was able to shoot two reality TV shows, Big Bad BBQ Brawl and Say Yes to the Dress. Also, I was a spokesman in TV/radio for Joe Cooper Ford one year. Finally, I've made a few training videos for the government playing the role of a doctor. So yes, I stay very busy!
So thank you for following and supporting me through AT’s Weather. I’m glad to have you as part of a wonderful weather community. Many have chosen to financially support me to help offset my time and my free services and products, like ATsWeatherToGo. You can see the many options under the donate tab on my website, AaronTuttleWeather.com. Stay safe out there! -AT
