-19: Hospital charges man $1.1million as bills after recovery.

Michael Flor, a 70-year-old American has been charged $1.1 million by the hospital where he recovered from COVID-19.

Flor nearly died of the Coronavirus disease after he spent 62 days at the hospital in the northwestern city, according to Seattle Times.

According to the report, nurses had at one point held up the phone so his wife and children could say goodbye after he came so close to death.

But he recovered only to receive a 181-page bill totalling $1,122,501.04, Flor told the newspaper.

The bill presented to the 70-year-old man includes: $9,736 per day for the intensive care room, nearly $409,000 for its transformation into a sterile room for 42 days, $82,000 for the use of a ventilator for 29 days, and nearly $100,000 for two days when his prognosis was life-threatening.

Prime Minister, Boris Johnson was on Wednesday involved in an accident

The incident happened just outside Parliament on Wednesday afternoon.

According to CNN, the Prime Minister’s car was hit in the back as his vehicle made a sudden stop after a protester “ran out into the road”.

A security vehicle is thought to have hit the back of his car outside Parliament.

The protester has reportedly been arrested after the incident.

Johnson’s official spokesperson confirming the crash said the Prime Minister was unhurt in the incident.

“Yes, the video crash was the PM’s car, I think the video speaks for itself as to what happened.
"No reports of anybody being injured,” he added.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, approved the appointment of 12 new Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.

The appointment was made known by the Head of Service of the Federation (HoSF), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan.

A statement issued by the Director, Communications Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), Mrs. Olawunmi Ogunmosunle, said the swearing-in and deployment of the new permanent secretaries will be announced soon.

The appointees were: Akinlade Oluwatoyin, Kogi; Alkali Bashir Nura, Kano; Anyanwutaku Adaora lfeoma, Anambra; Ardo Babayo Kumo, Gombe; Belgore Shuaib Mohammad Lomido, Kwara; and Ekpa Anthonia Akpabio, Cross River.

Others are Hussaini Babangida, Jigawa; Mahmuda Mamman, Yobe; Meribole Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Abia; Mohammed Aliyu Ganda, Sokoto; Tarfa Yerima Peter Adamawa; and Udoh Moniloja Omokunmi, Oyo.

Reports say the “Official George Floyd Memorial Fund” hosted on GoFundMe raised more than $13 million on Friday, breaking the crowd funding site’s all-time record for highest number of individual donations, .

The , organized by George’s brother , has received nearly 500,000 from 125 countries since its launch on May 27. The amount raised currently sits at $13.1 million as of Friday afternoon, a spokesperson told .

The money raised will cover funeral and burial expenses, provide mental and grief counseling, cover travel accommodations for court proceedings, and assist the family moving forward. A portion of the funds will go to Floyd’s estate to provide for his children and further their education.

The previous GoFundMe record was a campaign that raised funds to build a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border. It collected $25 million with more than 300,00 donations.
