Oberlin Kids opens new Community Room!
Friday I had the honor of covering the grand opening of the new OberlinKids community room at the old Prospect School building with City of Oberlin Recreation Department . I had a wonderful conversation with Jennifer Keathley about its use and opportunity as well as meeting several of the organization's parters including Ryan Aroney, President & CEO of United Way Greater Lorain County. OBP Positively Oberlin was also there as a dedicated partner to Oberlin Kids to lend a hand in the grand opening. Check out the interviews and action from this awesome day!

WOW, Tower 43 is AWESOME!!
Welcome Home Tower 43!
I had the absolute privilege to welcome the new Tower 43 Ladder Truck home to the Oberlin Fire Department. They have waited a long time to have it delivered and the excitement was off the charts from everyone around the fire station. I got a chance to talk with Chief Hanmer and walk around learning about all the different tools, configurations, and purpose. This ladder truck is an invaluable asset to the fire station’s fleet of rescue equipment and one everyone in the City of Oberlin can be proud of! Check out some of the highlights in the video! #OberlinProud #BigLadder #Heroes #NewTruckDay
Oh What Fun It Is To Shop Small Market!
I had an excellent time with Amy at the Oh What Fun It Is To Shop Small Market event this past Saturday at the New Russia Townsip Complex Featuring the Lodge. There were lots of vendors, arts, crafts, basked goods, wood working, plants, and so much more. I had the chance to talk to some of the vendors and even had a few treats from Molly Cakes!
Mrs. Nan Whaley always has time for a hug!
Welcome to Oberlin Mrs. Whaley!
What a privilege! Slow Train Cafe, 55 E College St., Ste. 3. Oberlin, OH 44074 was host to a very special visit from Mrs. Nan Whaley, Democratic Candidate for Ohio Governor. Mrs. Whaley won the Democratic primary election and became the Democratic nominee for Ohio Governor. She is the first woman to win a major party nomination to run for governor of Ohio and, because she is running with Cheryl Stephens, part of the first all-female ticket nominated by a major party for governor and lieutenant governor in Ohio. Mrs. Whaley spoke about personal and campaign goals, answered questions from the packed Slow Train dining room, and even had time for hugs! I will be sharing all the footage I captured with her media team to use as they wish. Oberlin is a special city with a wonderfully diverse and committed community, its nice to see people recognize this and the impact we can bring.

Vote Yes for Oberlin! Issues 37 & 38 explained by Sal Talarico!
Mr. Sal Talarico takes a few moments out of his day to help me understand the 2 levy renewals on the ballot for November 8th. I didn't realize how much the Oberlin General Fund impacts quality of life and essential services. Sal did a remarkable job explaining what's involved, who is impacted, and how we can help continue these critical services by the City of Oberlin.
Pours for Purrs!
What an amazing turnout to Black River at 15 South Main Street for Pours for Purrs benefiting Community Action to Save Strays (CATSS). Volunteers, community members, business owners, and of course some cute kittens were all mingling and having a great time in a beautiful setting!
