US post office is up to it again.. It WON'T let me order and pay for the Blackduck Route for some strange reason... they say it's not working at this time... and sorry for the inconvenience... SO I don't know when the Blackduck/Alvwood route will get their paper... I'll try again in the morning but not hopeful..

NOTICE

I'm a bit frustrated as many of you may be also... I APOLOGIZE FOR THE LATE OR MISSING BEAR COUNTRY CHRONICLES for those who have paid for a subscription. I have received numerous calls this last couple weeks from those who either have NOT received the paper and some received April 15th issue on May 15th... and others are missing.
I mail ALL ISSUES on the same day either a day or two after they come out... by making phone calls and tracking down the problem.. it has been pointing to what has been going on in the Bemidji Post Office ... those who have been dealing with this issue receive their mail through the Bemidji Post Office... I mail them at NORTHOME POST OFFICE from there they have to go to BEMIDJI POST OFFICE.... after that it is anyone's guess what happens to them...
One instance... I found that mail had not been picked up from the destination post office box that serves numerous apartments or rooms in the same facility..
I do appreciate the calls that let me know what is going on.. but I assure you.. I mail the issues on time... It is best for you to call the Bemidji Post Office if you are experiencing late or missing issues...

Well ... I'm not sure what this is going to do in regards to the paper .. but I just found out yesterday that my printer who has been printing the Bear Country Chronicles for the last 7 and a half years is closing this month ...I will be searching for a new printing company... starting on Monday...I'm hoping I can find one that will work with me very quickly.. so the distribution schedule won't be messed up...

I will be having carpal tunnel surgery on both hands during Christmas vacation .. so there will NOT be a January 1st issue of Bear Country Chronicles.. if you have something that absolutely NEEDS to be published before January 15th ... send it to me NOW so it gets in this next issue ... Just found out they sent the 3rd box of papers BACK to the printing office .. don't know what happened .. maybe their mailing label fell off. So frustrating !!

It happens every once in awhile ... and it happened again ... Our newspaper order from the printer got separated again ... we received 2 boxes but the third went on a little detour to southern Minnesota or tim-buck-two...or somewhere...we have enough for Northome - Mizpah- Kelliher - Waskish and Big Falls ...so they will receive their papers on the normal schedule ... but the 2 Blackduck routes and Squaw Lake routes will need to wait til the third box of papers gets done touring the country and decides to appear in our doorstep ... Sorry about this delay....

A CLARIFICATION
I'd like to clarify the article on the Women's Expo and Flea Market coming up on September 23rd... though they are held the same day they are 2 separate events.... When it states that this is the last event to sell your wares for the season that is referring to the Flea Market portion of the day... there were flea market type sales on Fun Day in June and the Rummage Sales on Friday of the Fair in August.. THIS is the last RUMMAGE SALE/FLEA MARKET type event that is planned til next spring (unless someone hosts another one..) it is SEPARATE from the Women's Expo and crafts... Some people are taking it that it is the last craft show/sale.... of course Mizpah Local Roots is selling crafts and homemade items at their place of business in Mizpah this fall and don't forget the Christmas Traditions CRAFT FAIR in November.... SO ... as far as selling crafts... there are more opportunities for that.. we will just not be hosting a large community flea market/rummage sale event til next year.... I hope this clears up a bit of the confusion..... Rena
