American guitarist thought to be the first woman to produce, engineer, arrange and promote music on her own rock and roll music label.

Jackson founded the Moon Records label in Memphis in 1956. Unable to break into the Sun label's stable of male artists, she received the advice and assistance of RCA Records' Chet Atkins in forming this new label to release her music. She began releasing and promoting on the label singles she recorded in her home studio, serving as engineer, producer and arranger. The artists recorded included her and a small family of early rock and roll, rockabilly, and country music performers whom she recruited from several Southern states.

Her Moon Records label was the oldest continuously operating label in Memphis at the time of her death in 2004. The 50s Rock on the Moon of Memphis, Tennessee + an Oddity, a compilation album of the label's 1950s singles, was released on vinyl in the early 1980s and was later sold on compact disc until her death in 2004.

Jake E. Lee, the enigmatic guitarist who shredded his way into metal history, wasn't always destined for rock stardom. Born Jakey Lou Williams, his musical journey began with classical piano lessons at a young age. But as fate would have it, his path took a sharp turn when he discovered his sister's collection of rock legends like Hendrix and Zeppelin. This sparked a fire in him, leading him to trade the piano keys for the sizzling strings of the guitar.

Lee's talent was undeniable. He quickly rose through the ranks of the San Diego music scene, even catching the eye of Ronnie James Dio. Though their collaboration never took off, it was a sign of things to come. Lee soon found himself auditioning for a monumental role – replacing the legendary Randy Rhoads as Ozzy Osbourne's lead guitarist.
Despite facing fierce competition, Lee's unique playing style, characterized by lightning-fast picking and a distinct vibrato technique, impressed Ozzy. He landed the gig and went on to shape the sound of Ozzy's commercially successful albums, Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin. Lee's tenure with Ozzy was a whirlwind of creative energy and headbanging anthems, but it was cut short due to personal clashes.

Following his departure from Ozzy's band, Lee formed Badlands with vocalist Ray Gillen, another former Ozzy bandmate. Badlands delivered a short-lived but impactful career, leaving behind a legacy of hard-hitting heavy metal.
Lee's career continued with various projects, including solo efforts and guest appearances. Though he shies away from the spotlight these days, his influence on the genre remains undeniable. He's a true guitar hero whose riffs continue to inspire generations of shredders.
