When You Love Someone
Dear Movie lovers, Spotify playlist makers, dancers, bystanders walking past Maya Angelou murals in New York, young boys using spoons as microphones, readers with headphones in coffee shops, bikers with loud music serenading traffic, and college students walking to class with a tiny stereo in your ear.
You all have something in common; each of you are using art in your daily routine. Let’s be real here, walking your pet is a lot more stimulating with street art to stare at. Also, our morning drives to work are absolutely enhanced by the music and podcasts we listen to. Those lonely nights are way less isolating with Netflix.
I guess I am just trying to point out that art is everywhere in our lives. It is inside of us, around us, and for us.
So why am I pointing out how much you love your favorite song?
Because a little over 2 years ago four artists landed in the same writing classroom at Charles University in Prague. These four women often edited many scripts and poems at Café Slavia until one day they decided to write a short film together.
These women took many buses to find film equipment, navigated the film school to find film crew, and shot an entire short film in 18 hours.
I am one of these women and I am so excited to share this piece of art with you. Not just because it is great content, but because multiple people from various backgrounds and cultures came together to create it.
Alas, we cannot release the film until we finish editing and animating. We need your help. If you have any donation to contribute to our film, “The Reflection Of”, then you will be helping us move this incredible project forward. Any kind of help is appreciated.
